8 Wins, 2 Losses, aaand... Silver Agent rank...? What??

(SzGamer227) #1

So as you may have seen on a previous thread of mine, I was worried that having an absurd win streak would cause me to be placed in a rank way above my league. On the contrary, it seems that I have been placed in a rank on the lower end of mediocrity…

My question is: Why? What does this mean??

CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN PLEASE THIS IS NOT HOW I THOUGHT THIS WOULD GO

Your starting rank is now a combination of your previous ranks and your w/l in the placement games.

In the ranked season 1 patch notes it said that after placement new players will be in top of bronze/bottom of silver. So unless you were a really high rank before and you got 10 wins straight you will end up in silver or lower.

If only this were true for rank progression too. I just lost a very close game on Chapel as one of the highest scoring players and I still got the full rank reduction for losing. -_-

That makes sense then. Thanks for the insight!

Karma stroke you for bragging about wins before

No seriously. I’m quite sure DB uses some kind of Elo, if not a direct Elo rating. So your wins could be against much weaker players, and therefor not worth much.

3 wins 9 losses. The highest bronze

7 wins 4 Losses and the lowest silver. I feel your pain. Ranked is very, very, BROKEN

Your playing ranked that is your fist and largest problem. First get core game, then focus on competition. derpy.

This makes no sense. In terms of this topic, and overall at all.

In my first 10 matches I got 9 wins and 1 loss. My reward was silver specialist. Last season I was silver 1. Now, ranked has turned shit again and I’ve downranked twice because of quitters/ having to play against gold/cobalts.

Take it as a reality check. You may be all strong and mighty in a pub setting but ranked is on a whole other level. You don’t get elite rank handed to you only after 10 games. You need to work for it hard, for months.

(terminal) #12

but ranked matches are just organized pubs.
I actually found ranked to be easier than pubs.

I had a similar experience where I decided to get a rank just for the trinket at the end of the season. I won the majority of the games I played, and was the top player or near the top in all of them, but I got put in silver agent. And I don’t feel like wasting another day trying to find matches and hope I don’t get demoted even more for some stupid reason. Ranked isn’t worth the effort.

lol… season 1 i was gold+ now i have 22 wins 10 losses and i am silver officer…im confused…

(Szakalot) #15

ranks have been demoted, old gold is the new silver, silver is the new bronze, etc.
