7 reasons why Execution is bad for a newcomer's Quick Join

7 reasons why Execution is bad for a newcomer’s Quick Join.

  1. New players die fast and are punished by being forced to wait until the round ends.
  2. We still have a large problem of unbalanced teams and it is escalated in Execution. Matches usually end up with one team heavily dominating the other. In Objective newcomers can at least respawn, in Execution all they can do is to yawn.
  3. Because of the above points newcomers spend most of their time in Execution as spectators instead of actually playing the game
  4. The game feels like a cheap rip-off of CS. “Meh, another CS clone”.
  5. Why someone would play a “CS clone” when they can play CS itself which is better at that mode.
  6. “CS clone with only 2 maps, lol”
  7. Why someone would recommend DB to a friend after playing Execution when that friend already plays CS? CS is better at “Search and Destroy” mode and its popularity is insane. Why someone would drop CS for a noname game that tries too hard to be a second CS?

The only advantage of Execution is that newcomers are acquainted with such a gamemode, so they can adapt quicker. However, this doesn’t outweight all of the mentioned disadvantages.

I agrre complitely wth this, whena firned of mien began playing i had tog et him into OBJ matches cause otherwise he woul get destoryed on Execution

Completely agree. Capture the flag, team deathmatch, just about any other conceivable game mode would be better as a “get your feet wet” experience.

Then again, I’m in the “why is there SnD in DB at all, period”-camp.

I can give one reason, the game mode throws new players straight into the deepend. One life game modes are not the way to welcome new players.

They’re trying to bring in the CS community. Why else would they make Execution, why else would they make it very similar without putting a twist, why else would they make it for new players quick play?

Why bring in the CS community when you have your own fan/playerbase right here.

(But I do love Execution Mode…)

How about the fact that it doesn’t fit the game at all

The first game mode should be Objective, end of story.

Bringing in the CS people makes them money. Game companies like money. I like game companies to have money, so that they make awesome games.

That being said, a HQ or KoTH mode would be awesome too.

Redirecting new players to Execution was a terrible idea. All the new people I told about DB are just uninstalling, saying “it’s just an unbalanced CS ripoff” without even trying the objective mode. Objective mode is the primary gamemode, not Execution : new players should be redirected to the Objective gamemode.

And why somebody who enjoys Search and Destroy would stop spending money on CS and choose to play DB instead with its poor copy of that game mode limited to 2 maps?

Anime Execution was a mistake.

The sooner SD realise this and stop trying to push it down new player’s throats the better for the health of the game.
