60Fps cap is not smooth

Basically the title.

But for more detail, i will explain what i mean!

I get around 80-120 fps.

Problem is that everything below 120 fps looks very unsmooth and choppy since im on a 60Hz monitor.

So i decided to cap my fps at 60 via config file.
I was using those commandlines:

bSmoothFrameRate=True
MinSmoothedFrameRate=0
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=60

So the problem is that i drop regulary below those 60. Its like hitching or frameskipping or something therelike.

I cant get to the roots of this. I already tried to set it to 61fps and 62 fps without any success, hell i even tried my real monitors refreshrate of 59.999999 fps. Still the same drop every couple of seconds.

I wouldnt bother much longer with this problem if my uncapped 80-120 werent so silly choppy looking.
And if i couldnt reach more than 60 fps at all times, then i would clearly see why this drop happens. But my overall fps is more than enough for that, right ?!

Alright if anyone could help me out with that and knows what i could do to fix this garbage, which makes no sense at all, then please feel free to leave a comment here.

Thanks for reading !

don’t do it via config, just set vsync to on in game

Nah vsync is bad and adds tons of input lag and also more strain on my GPU. Thats not an option…

All I can say is have you tried an fps config?

Cause right now that’s all I can do to stop the chug on my rig

yes sadly im already using one. Can maintain 100fps all the time. But 120 looks like it should every thing between 60-100 looks choppy.

Again. i dont understand why i cant keep a absolute table 60 fps when i cap it.
