5 Preorders and I am the only one left

5 Clanmates Preordered and I am the only one left. We ALWAYS play as a team and love team oriented game play. BRINK was the first game launch that our teamspeak was nothing more than pointing out bugs and awkward silences due to being frustrated/letdown. With the occasional person trying to get convo going by pointing out something they thought was “cool”.

I “like” the game, but it is not even close to what it should and could have been. I followed the game for a long time. I knew it was all about multiplayer. Which was perfect for me, but I am left scratching my head on where the rest of the game actually is. Did it really take that long to produce 8 maps / Models/ and weapons. The maps they are releasing with the DLC were obviously already well into production if not already complete by the time the game was released.

Sure we are getting them free, but that is due to trying to save face due to the terrible reviews/fan feedback. The fact that they even thought of charging us for a DLC after releasing this content starved game makes me angry.

I have already been asked by 5 or 6 other friends on what I thought and should they buy it. Sadly I had to say no it is not worth it. How can we fix this? Anything short of SD releasing the SDK seems like a lost cause. Even then I am not sure there would be a large enough community still hanging around for when the really great maps are released.

I’m not mad. Just Disappointed

Next whine thread please.

I’ve played 2-3 hours almost every day since launch. Playing on the ps3 and I’ve seen no bugs, glitches, or anything that would stop me recommending this game to a friend. It’s been a little laggy at times, but the lag never lasted long. Perhaps I’ve just been lucky.

This is the most fun I’ve had in years online.

I do agree that the content is slim, and that the launch was botched, but right /now/ - especially with the promise of more content - the future is looking very bright.

Excellent game, imo.

Just played ETQW and its shocking on how much BRINK is dumbed down for consoles. Download the demo and try it out. Wish I just would have played it when it released in 2007. Splash Damage seems to have taken a step backwards in almost every aspect of BRINK.

“5 Clanmates Preordered and I am the only one left.” … i have a similar story except we all cancelled and rented instead , we like almost all the features of the game but the lag and no-lobby are fatal blows :frowning:

I have a similar story too, well… it’s on XBox… and we rarely point out the negatives, we just complain about lag when it occurs… the rest of the time we’re having a good time because on the 360, all the games aren’t about cooperation, it’s about skill… well just being able to support yourself, finally a game with co-op and it’s a breath of fresh air…

Sorry your let down.

I’m curious how the overall experience is with the PS3, considering it was the only platform to get an actual beta, i.e. is it the strongest platform because of it?

Considering the fact that the same changes are being made for the PS3 as is on the xbox they are probably the same. With the exception of maybe the texture loading which is better on the PS3.

Nah the texture loading is still effed on ps3

But the lag generally.isn’t nearly as bad as 360 players make it out to be it seems on ps3

Odd, I have it on ps3 and texture load is pretty much fine.
