5/10XP for getting a headshot kill?

a little reward to make noobs notice that heads should be aimed for, and not feet.

EDIT: the bonus is only given after killing someone with a headshot, its not a reward for ‘just’ hitting a headshot.

I prefer 50/100XP bonus for keeping their crosshair on the target

Like, I know new players sometimes can’t even medic, ammo, or do objective, but literally can’t see the enemy right beside them are you serious?

Have seen that so many times. I watching them having a mystery conversation of “hi my enemy, see you later my enemy”

true, true, however actually giving a notification on screen saying you get extra score for getting headshots might make it more noticable

If we had the ability to create our own servers many of them would have sound packs with the UT “HEADSHOT” blaring 24/7. I’ve never been a fan of that but I’d be all about the “GODLIKE” getting shouted out when it happens on server :slight_smile:

As for the extra points…eh, you kind of already get extra points since you killed somebody faster and get to move on to the next kill. Also, since the kill feed only counts the last hit in regards to it being a headshot it would need to keep track of headshots during the time of the kill and tally a total. Which could potentially create a small performance impact. So there is that to consider!

Honestly, I would much prefer it if a game gave a “headshot kill” (either notification or points) if you did at least 40% of your damage to a character via headshot (that number is sort of arbitrary). It would more accurately reflect headshot kills that players achieve rather than simply being last hit. I could hit a Skyhammer with a burst rifle burst where all three bullets hit his head but finish with a body shot and not get a headshot kill for that…which is a fairly common scenario.

I get what you’re saying and I’m not against it. I just personally like these things to be either done right or not done at all.

Yeah as Amerika said it would work better with some other arbitrary value, maybe even an XP bonus/badge for hitting 5 headshots in a row or something. Heck maybe a “Headhunter” badge for dealing an X amount of headshot damage over the course of a match?

You already do double damage so I don’t think it’s needed. And people would rage if they headshot a Rhino 10 times and then hit him once in the body and he died from it so they didn’t get the bonus xp.

But I don’t mind having a bonus for every headshot scored (doesn’t have to be a kill) with a sniper rifle
+20xp per headshot with bolt action (MoA/FEL-IX)
+10xp per headshot with auto sniper (PDP or Grandeur)
+5xp per headshot with Dreiss (I know it’s not a sniper but it still reminds of it)
But for regular weapons, I don’t think it’s needed

I play with hit beeps on and the sound it makes when you are getting headshots is gravy enough.

Personally I find the current headshot “ding” sound satisfying enough. With fast firing weapons you can kinda feel the beat and dive into headshot zen.

the UDK is free, whip us up something if you’re that great at Unreal Engine
