Please keep it simple. Just put down the 3 things you think SD should change to make the game better!

now bigger just for shifty and bombalak

  1. Provide a competition Mod. We have to be able to restrict things to make it work for us!

  2. Movement feels to heavy. Nothing should slow down your sprint maybe add stamina bar.

  3. Maps are to long. More Side-Objectives less Primary-Objectives! Cut don’t SW time to 15 Minutes!

    Pls dont, that will seperate comp from pub like in ETQW as long as there will be a ranked system

Just give unlimited sprint.

This will inevitably cause a divide between comp players and pub players. This is a big part of what makes a successful game whether it is aimed at e-sport or not. The less you need to “modify” a game to make it competitive the better.

The movement is fine to me. The only thing that slows you down is when you are actually doing something. I.e. dropping health, ammo, deployables etc. I think that is a fair trade. A stamina bar? For what? Last I checked I can sprint and jump for as long and as much as I want.

True to a certain degree. I think side objectives would help speeding the maps up and with that making them seem less long. “Cut don’t SW TIME” I take it you mean shorting the stopwatch timer down to 15 minutes? Interesting idea but I’d rather wait with doing that until the maps are getting closer to final so we know how long each objective (and possibly side objectives) takes to complete.

No joke. I actually thought yesterday exactly the same. What if there were a thread and you would have to name the three most important things you think should be improved.

I would say:

  • maps need a major major overhaul. They need more open space, more side routes, more options, jumps, interactiveness in all sorts of ways (rats are good, but also more objectives), it has been voiced alot in the past. And with that comes more players possible on the servers, not just 5v5s. I guess for 5v5s the maps need just a bit more side routes and more interesting objectives.
  • movement system. I am going to say the unthinkable again, and what seemingly is not allowed to voice here: make it like W:ET please ^^
  • the third thing i don’t know, just the two above things and building upon this is already huge. Maybe performance. Or maybe funky weapons, making ironsights useful, making all weapons feel accurate, not messing with spread, … lots of small things …

I fail to see how you are sparking a “debate” style discussion with your original post, but whatever.

The first point you make, in any other game, would be essential. However, I feel SD are trying to cut the gap between comp/pub players. If they are able to get this done I will take my hat off and eat it! There will be tweaks needed when the game is released, no doubt. But a whole “mod” would not be needed in this case… or lets hope it’s not needed!

Your second point I agree with. I would love to have a more “free flowing” feel to moving about the maps. Jumping slows you down quite a bit and you are quite limited to what you can jump over/on top of when it comes to maps. I guess thats to do with the collision boxes rather than the actual movement system?

Third point I did strongly agree with until the spawn time changes they have made. We are now seeing MORE maps being completed in the timeframe given! So well done SD! I still feel that there is improvement for this though. Maybe switch the defending teams spawn time from 25 seconds to 30 seconds. This MIGHT speed the maps up slightly more so they are being completed within 15 minutes.

Pretty much same as what acQu said

    • Major overhaul of the map’s & better implementation of capture-able SPAWN POINTS:

They need more open space, more side routes, more options, jumps, interactiveness in all sorts of ways

    • Movement System - needs to be more free flowing, less slowing down to do actions, more ability to do trick jumps, strafe jumps (more ET:QW/BF3 style than Quake arena), prone… just generally more freedom.
    • HUD Development - im satisfied with the crosshair finally, but objective markers, IFF’s, minimap design, objective status bars, integer values on HP etc, team spawn times, fireteam implementations need to be greatly improved both in aesthetics and usefulness (i know we can alter HUD to a reasonable extent already but it’s no where near polished or at an acceptable level).

  1. More explosive weapons, and weapons without instant hit
  2. I want a world that reacts to my presence (real car explosions, breaking stuff, be extravagant ! etc.)
  3. Clearly, movement. cf Samurai’s 3rd point.

  1. Make sure that you don’t introduce new illogical bugs every new build. (Old bugs that were already fixed like double medpack on quickuse, and mapholes invisible stuff in place where absolutely NOTHING changed to the prior build)

  2. Dunno how you wanna do it but fix performance already. 10000000 ppl don’t play cause of performance issues and that leaves only a little crowd to actually test things. And since you don’t wanna invite new ppl this seems to be the only solution.

  3. Listen more to people (NOT ME) that actually have a clue and not clueless people with 1000000 posts in this forum …

To talk about a few things other ppl have mentioned, I don’t think comp mod might be necessary. I would be ok if you got a wide variety of server settings that you can change and therefore you can do comp like you want it.

I agree with the movement arguments and wanna add that for me it is most of the time too slow for get from spawn to frontline. Either the player has to be faster, cause you got nothing like strafejump which was an excellent way to be faster while not in the fighting zone, or there have to be forward spawns where they are needed to do accomplish that goal.

I also don’t get why soldiers and mountable Machineguns have to be so unbalanced. The later get buffed every build it seems. I am looking forward to the next build with instakill MG Nests YAY.

  • Make classes extremely distinct and class abilities powerful. Stop sticking to the centre.
  • Implement prone, lean and ramp up iron sights
  • There’s no third. This is really all I want to see right now.

  1. Carry objectives where the collection and delivery points are equidistant from both teams spawns.
  2. Maps with fewer objectives that can be completed in 10 mins instead of 20.

  1. Make the shooting style, spread, accuracy, recoil and TTK similar to ET or ETQW.

  2. More freedom of movement so sprint always on, reloading while sprinting, strafe jumping and trick jumps, like Samurai said the game should be fast and furious and you shouldn’t have to stop to do everything.

  3. Static health with HP counters instead of regenerative health.

I could talk about the map design, spawn times, competitive mods but those three basic mechanics will form the core of the game.
