21st October Dev Stream Round-Up

(Faraleth) #1

Remember, as always, unless specifically stated as confirmed, please take everything with a grain of salt.

Got a burning question that’s missing? Was I blinded and missed something that you’re turtley dying to ask? Check out the FAQ here: http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/17544/dev-nexon-stream-faq

News:

  • Market is the other Execution map shipping with the release of Execution.
  • Stoker’s Molotov has a 12 second burn time.
  • If you die while holding a Molotov, providing the “cooking” animation has been triggered and completed before hand, you will drop the Molotov upon dying and it will detonate around you.
  • Fire confirmed to damage the EV and deployables.
  • The Containment War Update is scheduled for release “before the end of the month”. – The current prediction is that we will see the Role-Call on Monday, and then the update will land in the middle of next week (around the 28th). Note: This is NOT confirmed, just speculation and predictions, based off of clues.
  • There is still “more information to come” for some things… New things will be shown on Friday’s stream too!

Possible changes/updates:

  • There have been quite large changes to the Canal map, more so than the Overground one. Lots of camping points have been limited, and certain routes that were deemed “optimal” have been shuffled and re-routed, in order to keep the map balanced.
  • Market was formerly known as “Canal”.
  • They are aware of the requests for skins to have an impact on ability weapons (such as the Minigun or REVIVR), however there is nothing in the pipe-line or the immediate future for this. It’s definitely a good possibility for the future though.

Extra info:

  • Guest: MissShoe! (MissMurder and Shoe ultimate colab thing)
  • Featuring: Nexon QA team, playing with Shoe on the internal test build!
  • If we petition hard enough, they might change the name of “Market” to “Dank Market”. We need this. NEED it…

Enjoy… Until next time! #roundup

How do we go about petitioning for the Dank Market?

“Fire can damage EV”

I’m sorry, but Stoker really really sounds like he’s gonna be a top tier Support Specialist merc.

Rest in peace Arty.

A man with a Timik that he can reload on the run that burns down the EV.
What is there not to love?

Arty and Stoker are apples and oranges. Ammo packs vs ammo station, artillery strikes that you can direct nearly wherever you want in the open even near you, with 2 available and a short cooldown vs large AOE incendiaries that are thrown and stick around for 12 seconds with a 40 second cooldown.

(InfernoKun) #10

Looking forward to Execution xP

As well as 1 Semi/2 Burst rifles vs 1 Burst (which noone will use)/2 Auto rifles…
Still Stoker will kind of kill other fire supports becuase of closed places where other fire supports don’t even work. (that is if they don’t give Kira and Arty indoors abillity)

Barely, they both fill the the role of Supprt Specialist. Obviously we will have to wait till he’s ingame, but from what I have seen so far, he’s just another Support Specialist who will probably outmatch Arty.

With Skyhammer and Kira, the uses for Arty are already limited, and now with another merc with indoor area denial and fully automatic guns? Arty really doesn’t seem like he’ll be all that useful.

(MarsRover) #13

I doubt he will be as good at damaging EV as any of the current fire support mercs. Kira’s laser is pretty weak but at least you can move it with the EV, while Stoker’s fire is static.

If damage rates are the same as the closed beta, he’ll be definitely a good EV destroyer/stopper. The area denial awfully complicates the escorting. And a full duration molotov was more than enough to destroy it. But yes, probably not as good as the other support on destroying the EV, but much more efficient on the harassing side surrounding this.

Fletcher will be perhaps the most useful escort merc. As explosives can put out the flames.

And it will be a pain for those that will try to repair after, unless they have explosives around.

Arty actually sux in destroying the EV, it is definitely the weakest support merc.
He would be actually really usable if the arty would work like in RTCW or ET, so less impacts over longer duration. I hope they will buff hist arty in future, so it could be actually used

Kira is not bad, but won’t destroy the EV as well, it’s just good to clean the given area out.

It’s really just Skyhammer that is doing well here.

So yeah, if the dmg of the molotov is the same as in closed beta, then we are going to have new top EV destroyer

Skyhammer is the goto EV buster.

I gotta say Arty is actually really good, it’s just hard to target it.

Kira isn’t very good, but because you can move the laser it’s alright at clearing away any repairers.

Stoker? I dunno.
