2 quick questions: skin and ranked points

1. what is that carbon and what is that black weapon skin with the many different coloured spots and can I still get it someway?

2. I have enough ranked points for the obsidian Aura or two cases. I already have a BL72 Aura - should I get the cases then? What does the skin from the cases look like and is Aura just the regular obsidian?

1. Carbon is a Silver skin, looks like standard square weave carbon fiber. The Black with blue spots is Cobalt Fragment with High Quality Materials turned off (when on, they look chrome or nickel plated).

I think they might mean crown, not fragment. Different coloured spots, not just blue. Crown has red and greenish something over a black background.

If so, crown is just a type of gold skin. Craft a gold card enough times and you’ll get one eventually. Or get lucky with a case.

Imo the BL41 aura obsidian isn’t worth it, as an aura main. Both the BL41 and BL72 are great cards in their own ways, one isn’t really better than the other. I decided to save my ranked points and just bought a couple ranked cases instead.
If you really love the skin and really want the BL41 card, go for it. But otherwise if you’re a casual aura player, the BL72 is fine.

To clarify, I mean this one:

Are the carbon and fragment/carbon tied to the 2nd edition or to certain weapons? I’ve got a 1st edition cobalt and it’s all blue!?

It’s cause both cobalt and silver have two different skins! A silver card can either be “urban” or “carbon”, and a cobalt can either be “fragment” or “shard”.

Shard is the blue one you have, cobalt is the shiny/dark one with the sparkles. They’re not tied to anything in specific. You can have any weapon on any card in either skin, it’s just random

Pictures for what Starry said above. Each vanity (Silver+) Rarity comes in different forms. Gen1 and Gen2 have the same skin options, but are determined when the card is given to you. You can get another card with the same kit, but a different skin.
