Bought Brink on the steam US store cause my app won’t let me buy it since I live in Malaysia and gots American billing info. So one could say I bought an American copy of Brink.

Would I get the American release date for it or the Malaysian?

And if I do get it early, I plan on streaming or uploading to youtube, how would I record this? With Fraps?

Depends, at what time does your “in-Steam” Store tell you BRINK will unlock?

(Wepohn) #3

Fraps or the broadcasting feature in Xfire. Not sure about the first question though.

12 May. Though if the game unlocks corresponding to store time couldn’t I just use a VPN? I use a VPN to play LoL since I’m blocked over here.

Also I’d like to add that over the summer in the states I bought GTA IV, I can’t get it in the Malaysian store (probably banned or something here) yet it still runs…might be useful information.

If PC: record video with demo command ingame, replay demo and record it with fraps. this way your pc will have more computing capacity for brink.

if you all bought fraps that is.

I could imagine there being a similar feature to ETQW that would print every single frame that you can later combine using a number of video-making programs.

shoudnt be a problem

could anyone answer the Brink question please?

the 12th is the AU release date

USA is 10th
EU is 13th

I think you get the US release.

The unlock date and the version you get always depends on “where” the game was purchased.

for example:
germany gets alot of censored games, but when I get the game gifted from an american I get the uncut version and I guess I also get the same release date.

Changing your IP via VPN wont help if you already bought the game.
For example:
I bought F1 2010 with my german IP the game was released on the 20th in EU but on the 17th in america.
using an american IP adress changed the US timer, and displayed me that the game is available on the 17th, but I still could not play it till the 20th, since I purchased it when I had the german IP.

Also, dont ask that question on the steam forums or dont contact support.
Purchasing a game with a fake IP can get your account banned permanently as you’re acting against the ToS.
You also circumvent your countries taxes, wich could you get in trouble in your country.

keep it quiet and nothing should happen.
