1st gen vs 2nd gen loadouts

I DEFINITELY don’t think that Skyhammer’s best Timik card was the 1st gen card - his 2nd gen cards come with a Timik that has Double Time, Drilled, and a S&W Revolver. That’s FAR better than having Explodydendron, Failsafe (a @$!# useless perk except for Fletcher), and a lesser Simeon revolver.[/quote]

Agreed. M92 was always my favourite Skyhammer card, but now this new Timik card is. I barely use Skyhammer any way, but drilled and double time is a legit combo.

I’m not so sure about that one to be honest… Having Quick Eye on a Stark makes it INSANELY good at long distance killing (since you can keep up a high rate of fire while maintaining perfect spread while ADS, and Quick Eye helps to improve your strafing speed). Personally I always thought that the S72 in Gen 1 was always sup-par compared to the S82, but now with Quick Eye at least it has a unique advantage over the S82, even if it does also lose Explodydendron.

I must say, the uniqueness of each of Arty’s Stark cards has actually been done very well.

  • S72 is best for long ranged sniping with ADS (Quick Eye) and for being resistant to explosives and air support (Guardian Angel + Unshakeable), but is slightly less effective in close range due to its poor sidearm (Caulden)
  • S41 is best for close-medium ranged shooting with its fast reloads (Drilled) and reduced aimpunch (Focus) which is really helpful when you’re going for headshots and a little bit of extra recoil will cause your bullets to miss. Plus it has the best sidearm of the three Stark cards (M9).
  • S82/S83 is best for maximising use of the airstrikes (Explodydendron) and for increased speed at arming/repairing objectives (Mechanic), and is reliable in close range as it has a good sidearm (Selbstadt) to help finish off enemies rather than go through the Stark’s reload. (Also, when you’re trying to farm Support XP, this loadout is the best because you can throw more ammo packs (Extra Ammo)).

So yeah, I think it’s a pain that they gave the Cricket Bat to the S82/S83 card, but I do also think that the new balance between those cards is MUCH better than it used to be, and is much more interesting.

It was very sub-par tbh, but since they buffed tough so much I think it’s better, at least for pub stomping where you can’t rely on a good medic. Comp would be a different story. I don’t know the exact figures but it’s something like health starts to regen after 1.5 seconds now instead of 4.5 seconds or something. Those few seconds make a world of difference for me. I haven’t touched my S82 since they gave that huge buff to tough.

PS: Does tough also make your health regen faster? I feel like the figures go up faster with tough than they do without it. Starting to wonder if it actually does and perhaps is worded wrong, like how focus left out that it worked while not scoping too.

nope, the regen amount isn’t modified by tough.
