16slots server turned into 8-slots server

hi,
i ordered 16 slots server. no config changes, this is my config:

-everything is default. Server somehow turned or swithed from 16-slosts into 8-slots server. Just hour ago it has 16slots, but …

Config looks good.

if you want you can backup your config and try mine and see if it does the same with mine as a test. If it does the same with my config, I would say that it could be a setting during launch that is being set by the company doing the hosting.

Just a guess, but what gamemode are you on?

Campaign is limited to 8, multiplayer is 16.

his modes are set right for multiplayer.

I suppose the server got hijacked by a coop session (which loads a config defined by the player who started it), and normally this includes tuning the player slots down to 8 slots. However, if the last player in this session disconnects, the server should reset to the normal config.

This feature is enabled by default in the config, you should set net_serverAllowHijacking to 0 to disable this behaviour.

Is that enabled by default?

also make sure you read very carefully for that command as it is apparently misprinted in the guide.

Correct: net_serverAllowHijacking 0
In-Correct: net_allowServerHijacking 0

if i will set to TDM it will goes back to 16? im realy lost here…

from guide i can see there is:

which one is for 16-slots server?

i opened support ticket they told me to enable TDM? how to set this?

Well, the guide states that it is indeed on by default (just gave it a quick try and restarted my server without defining it somewhere and its 1 in the console).

Yeah, I just read that part in the guide. I have it in my config, but thats because I like to be in control of everything.

This may be effecting the OP since it is not in his config at all. It is a good possibility since everything else looks like it should be fine.

Try disabling Hijacking in your server.cfg and reboot the server and see what happens.

Will prevent the server from being able to be hijacked. You can add it to the command line or put it into your config. If you add it to your command line it needs to be +set net_serverAllowHijacking 0

StopWatch and Objective are 16 man games. Campaign and Challenge are setup to 8 Humans on the same team and 8 Bots on the opposite team. I believe to be how it is working.

Most likely I’d say you’re right. Mine was encountering the same problem earlier, and I have the new correct command in for server hijacking and it seems fine now.

Can you force reboot your server? and add net_serverAllowHijacking 0 to your config?

hm… if i will add net_serverAllowHijacking 0 that means my server config will not change?

if net_serverAllowHijacking 1 allows to change game config, then im OK with this. but who can explain to me, how to get 16-slots back? via some server console, or by voting?

1.4. Server Hijacking
Like some other FPS games (e.g. Left4Dead) Brink allows players to play through the story Campaign and other modes in Co-Op on a dedicated server. Obviously most server admins will choose to setup their servers for the regular multiplayer modes (Objective and Stopwatch) but they may still want to offer their server to others, when it’s not in use, to play Co-Op on.
‘Server Hijacking’ is our solution to this issue. Servers flagged with the cvar net_allowServerHijacking 1 (on by default) can be borrowed by players who are using matchmaking under the following circumstances:
 net_allowServerHijacking needs to be set to 1
 The server needs to be empty
If these conditions are met then when players are matchmaking into the game it will try to place them on a hijackable server and will replace the server’s settings with the default
config that the player matching in requested. These settings will remain on the server until all clients leave the session, at this point it will automatically restore the settings and config that was originally on the server.
If the server admin wishes to use his server whilst it is being hijacked he is free to kick the players from the server and this will restore his settings 30 seconds afterwards.
Obviously, if the admin does not wish server hijacking to be enabled then net_allowServerHijacking should be turned to 0.

The command listed is WRONG it is net_serverAllowHijacking , but all the info is good.

i have players on the server, i dont want to kick them to test this…
but during night i will set hijacking to 0
