14th December Dev Round-Up [Update Info & What The Dickens?]

(Feley) #121

Ok @Lumi now i see your point.
On the one hand, there are three (four) different update features. 1st one, and probably most important are bug fixes. 2nd one, also important are balance changes. 3rd one, important but not so crucial are new contents (and fourth are content changes)…

On the other hand, those three features can also be devided differently. Firstly, new content is the most exciting update feature. (When update comes you want to try out new merc). Secondly, balance changes are also exciting, but not as exciting as new content. (After trying out new merc, you want to check reworked weapon). And finally, there are bug fixes, and people are almost never exicted about those (And I agree, they are the most important for smooth gameplay and other stuff)

Now, purely cause of marketing reasons, update’s main feature will be new content, or if there isn’t any new content, it’ll be balance changes… But you will never see let’s say: “5 important bugs are fixed”…

Also, prioritisation isn’t the same as main update feature… Maybe SDs priority in this update are indeed the bug fixes, but they won’t promote that cause it isnt as exciting…

You can’t really say what priority is until you see the patch notes yourself, so please don’t make so much dramma over a stream round-up…

TL;DR - “Main update feature” is determined by excitement of community, while priority is kind of determined by importancy of update features…

Anyways, priority isn’t same as main feature, therefore, trinkets may not be priority…

Since I saw the post about the Scheduled, I though, “Now I want the patch notes”

(Drcipres) #123

The update is ready to be dowloaded for me. Okay, now gimme the patch notes

(Lumi) #124

@Feley

Well, you’ll understand me even more after this: I do not feel excited at all for some trinkets, actually I feel the exact opposite. Now I would be excited about finally removing some of the bugs out there and improve pub balancing. You right that those things can’t be marketed as well, but it just makes me feel sick about the entire DB experience when all of their announcements are just marketing all over. They lack substance and I hate advertising in any form. Sorry that me being tired of seeing this game progressing this wrong way is a drama. Just know this: I haven’t played DB since the last CW meltdown event and I was really hoping for some update to bring me back, but trinkets won’t be enough. I’m really considering looking for that uninstall button and log off from here, never to come back…

@Lumi

Do give update notes a chance ^^ This is smelling like a Fine-Tuning-ish update so there surely be tweaks and stuff. Since we got the client update already and are simply waiting for the maintenance to finish, we should get our hands and eyes to those pretty nice’n’soon.

@coolFortress

Yep, worries confirmed. Sucky update. A copy of the meltdown event that everyone hated the drop percentage off, trinkets, minimal buffs to most weapons and minimal bug fixes with all the big ones not being mentioned. This is my stop people, I won’t be playing for a long time…

(bontsa) #127

@Lumi Hope to see you back in a month or couple, we others will continue testing and giving devs verbal what-for if things slow down too much. I personally feel this update alone while not having that much content you were, rightfully so, asking for, it keeps up with the trend of the couple previous ones. They’re getting there, albeit super slowly.

(IcySkyz) #128

I will continue to play the game when I am free… but honestly, I won’t be putting any extra time inspite of the event. Frankly, its just Meltdown #2. Pretty disappointed.

(Feley) #129

How many threads and posts about people raging over meltdown event…
"Let’s make another meltdown event :smile: "

Yeah, I will play, but also won’t be putting any extra time like you… That event was ridicoulus…

EDIT: Ok maybe I will, but not cause of case drops, but for snowman trinket :tongue: (if case drops, ok, if it doesn’t, won’t bother with it)
