12th August Dev Stream Round-Up

News:

  • NO new merc being released next week. The next update will be similar in type to the “Fine Tuning Update” we received prior to Red-Eye’s release.
  • Shoe would not give me any hints towards the next merc, because he’s mean :c </3
  • Question: Will you be releasing any new maps? – There is definitely stuff being worked on, but there is NO exact dates right now, nor any imminent plans.
  • Question: Will there be any events this weekend? – “I’m sure there will be SOMETHING this weekend…”
  • Question: “So would you say the next merc is coming out of his shell? Or maybe they will be coming back? Or maybe they will be causing a lot of heat?” (this was due to the jokes about hinting towards the next merc) – “Neither of those. It makes it too obvious.”
  • Time is split between updates and fixes. Usually there will be a recurring pattern of content, then fixes. No further information was provided on possible upcoming updates/fixes.
  • Confirmed: There will definitely be Steam trading – however we can NOT expect it any time soon, as it is a lot of work, and there are other things to be worked on before this. Sorry folks!

Possible changes/updates:

  • Question: What happened to the exp glitch and those who abused it? – The bug was partially removed, however not completely due to the haste in which the fix was pushed out. Those who are abusing the glitch ARE being tracked and action can/will definitely be taken against those who are abusing it… you have been warned.
  • There will be a FULL fix for the exp glitch in the upcoming patch (likely next week).
  • Question: Will we get an update to the anti-cheat? – There is something in the works right now and will be coming soooooon!! (Soon… soon. Shoe should change his name to Soon.)
  • Question: Do you plan to add more perks to the loadout cards? – No, BUT there are other “things” being added or changed with the loadout cards. Stay tuned for that…
  • Question: Are you thinking of adding a re-roll feature for loadout cards? – “We are currently working on the loadouts. Whether a feature like this makes it in or not, I cannot say. But there are definitely some changes being worked on!”
  • Question: Will we see a colourblind mode in the game any time soon? – Yes, there will DEFINITELY be a colourblind mode, however right now it is about prioritising content, bug fixes, updates and other changes.
  • General optimisation will be worked on, BEFORE specifically optimising for Windows 10. Advised: Make sure your graphics card drivers are compatible with Windows 10 before updating. Some people’s game runs fine on Windows 10, while others struggle to run it.
  • There have been some talks in regards to the Grandeur SR rifle’s recoil and it is a possible change in the future. (Note: This is NOT confirmed.)

Extra info:

  • Guest: Ross, production tester at Splash Damage.
  • He worked on a waifu game.
  • Question: What did you think of Phantom prior to his launch in open beta? – “I haven’t been working on the game that long, so I’m not sure what he was like before. I guess they tweaked and balanced him how they thought was best, but… I guess mistakes can happen.”

I think they are going to get some kind of ‘strike’ on their account, and a roll-back. However, NOTHING is confirmed what will happen. However, it’s fairly certain some action will be taken against those who do abuse it, as they are definitely tracking them now.

I’ll openly admit that I used the arty XP bug ONCE to see if it worked and if I could outscore everyone by doing nothing useful for the team. It worked and I did. My team also sucked and the best player had 2000 xp and we won anyway.

@Mrlong2 I don’t think you should worry too much. I think they were talking about those who are STILL using it after the patch and are continuing to use it in order to level really fast - not those who tried it as a 1-off.

Regardless, I wouldn’t recommend ANYONE to try it now, as they are actively tracking and will be taking action. But, if anyone is in the same boat as Mrlong2, I don’t think you should worry too much c:

I still don’t see why people abuse known glitches “to see if they work.” Of course they work (that’s why you know about it) and you shouldn’t be doing that or should stop the instant you realize it’s a thing. What do you even gain by testing it for yourself, besides exp you didn’t deserve?

Sounds to me like Phantom may possibly hopefully maaaaaybe receive a little tuning in the next patch. I’ll cross my fingers he’s made a bit more useful again.

Also can someone tell me what the EXP glitch is? I won’t abuse it, I am just curious to know what it is, and how Aura + EV = EXP.

The med station gives you points for healing the EV. For some strange reason it treats it as a team mate.

@Mercy I’m afraid, it was confirmed before Phantom will have NO more drastic changes to him. There may be small tweaks here-and-there, but nothing like before… Sorry! :c
