1 shotting

(Phizuol) #21

I’m pretty sure a lot of people have heard the same line about one shot kills, to the tune that if you’re not playing a light you don’t need to worry about it. And even then it’s only if you’re not buffed.

Here’s the fact: What you heard is not true.

From the stats I’ve seen the Barnett and Mossington can both one shot you, though one of those needs to practically be up your bung first. I was a little upset at first like, “Oh I was lied to!” but whatever. That’s the game, take it or leave it. In some cases you can be one shot by the Ritchie and probably the Dragonov too.

Yo guys, didnt splashdamage sayd no 1 shot kills ? except for light with no buffs, well im medium and i keep dyng with sniper heashots, sniper shots (not headshot) and even from 1 pistol its kinda wtf.

I think you can 1 shot with buffed ritchie a light in the head.

How much does Kevlar absorb? Source?[/QUOTE]

According to Den, its a flat x0.8 multiplier. Best source we have on such things as far as I’m concerned. He has even corrected the prima guide (multiple times).

(Lancer) #25

Let your team medics buff your HP or your engineers apply Kevlar armor.

If you’re an unbuffed Medium bodytype, then somebody with a first-tier Engy buffed Barnett can drop you with a bodyshot.

The Richie and Drognav can only one-shot an unbuffed medium if they’re engy buffed and scored a headshot.

(murka) #26

Yea but the Ritchie has high rof so you can pretty much 2 shot them, which is slightly less annoying, but still.

(peteXnasty) #27

No traditional 1 hit kills weapons…a buffed sniper vs unbuffed body type isn’t traditional at all

They said one shots are rare, not impossible.

Which is true, only one gun is realistically possible of one shotting and that is the Barnett and it requires a headshot.
The Barnett is a terrible gun that is really annoying to use, the animations are broken, it stops quick weapon switching, it gets stuck on ADS, and it takes a year to reload and has a pathetic clip size, if you are getting one shot by it you are getting outplayed.

Thanks!

The important thing to me is, that I dont get dropped in every firefight by the first headshot. I think thats also the baseline of the SD statement: Headshots dont instakill.

Well, the Revolver has a lot of recoil, and is like a 1 shot ever second kinda gun (so there’s no accurate spraying going on with it), is alright I think. Considering they also need a buff, it isn’t to bad… unless engineers like buffing themselves… which they do…

Yeah well… SD said a lot of things. They were supposedly against camping… but people in the game camp worse than they do in COD because SD gives them all the tools they need to camp. I’ve rarely been to a game where people DON’T camp. No one even goes for the objectives it’s all just TDM.

(KAS--Will) #32

I was in a game with a camper today… like, a true blue COD camper, crouching and everything… and he couldn’t even touch me. He was like a girl bouncing on trampoline’s from the man show when I got to him…

Besides that, the only time I find any camping, is when a teams “Defending”… which is necessary… it’s LITERALLY impossible to make an FPS without camping, because it all depends on the player… but some games make it easier for campers (COD), and others… not so much (My experience with campers in BRINK).

(NathanDavid) #33

Camping is the most natural tendency when someone is inexperienced. Inexperienced players are very often afraid, and easily disoriented. When you’re afraid, you hide. Find the most secure place to hold up, and wait.

Point being, you can’t expect people to not camp in a brand new game.

Lol, then I’m Pro or something, because my first time in, I rushed, and just played the crap out of it only stopped when I was incapacitated… or dead. I’m like that with all games, even COD… I feel that if I’m not moving, I’m going to get knifed or owned…

(Stormchild) #35

I don’t mind campers if we get decent ways to take them out (SMART, Nades, map design) or negate their effect (smoke / blind nades, etc).

After all, finding and killing a camper is maybe even more satisfying than doing so on other enemies ? Except good old 1 on 1 jumpy duel.

This basically. To one shot you have to use a ****ty bolt action rifle with 4 bullet clips and 3 clips in total and you HAVE to headshot otherwise you just wasted time and bullets and you’re screwed against decent players. I guess its a good weapon if you have extraordinary aim and pretty much HS every bullet, otherwise I would say the semi auto sniper is miles better.
