Xbox360 users - should I buy Brink?
Ultraddtd You can get into a match with a party intact. I did it last night. (admittedly the first try was problematic) I joined a party with another forum member ans some of his friends. we were all at the main screen area customizing/tweaking characters. We were a mish-mash of levels/ranks (thats where the problems happened). The first campaign game put together did not allow the higher ranked players into it. I am not sure if the correct setting wasn’t toggled or if there was a different problem. We tried again and everything went smoothly. There is a join as xbox live party option within the game. When one person starts a game the rest of the party members click this option. click the players name and join their game.

I would like to see this method refined and be more user friendly, but at the least there is a method to join games with friends already.
That’s essentially joining a game in progress. Granted, it cuts out having to pull up the guide, scroll to the player and select join game in progress, but it doesn’t guarantee that the other party members will make it into the game.

A proper party system would search for games with enough empty slots to accommodate the team. In the least, a system similar to L4D’s would be nice, where you could create a game, invite your friends, then make it public so pubs can join. In fact, that’s what I assumed Brink’s system would be, until we found out otherwise at launch.

I play for about six hours yesterday and experienced a lot of lag. There was lag throughout the night and some game breaking spikes that really ruined the fun. I was one of lucky few (on a console) that was able to find a good match with humans and it was amazing.

I am very grateful to Splash Damage for creating this game and I am in no way saying I dislike it (I actually can’t wait to get off work to play it again). With that said: I work in a QA department and I can’t help but think we are beta testing Brink right now.

I have faith in Paul Wedgewood and his team that they will not let this stand. I believe this game was a labor of love and it will be fixed soon.

You all need to smoke a dutch and stop making Mountains outta mole hills, I have an xbox, pre orderd brink because it looked different and fun, and i love customization. Why make it so much more? Buy the game, if you dont like it return it, problem solved, jesus christ its not your wedding day.

Get in maybe 6-8months.

Don’t know what country you live, but in the US you can’t return a game once it’s been opened.

So forgive people if they are a little concerned that the sp is crap because the ai is some of the worst seen in a video game in years, and the mp is unplayable because of the lag

I played it all day yesturday, beat all the single player levels. Played a good deal of online. Its not perfect. But if your looking for something different. BRINK could fit the bill. I got it a few laggy rooms yesturday, but most of them were good.

That’d be an idea, but by then the MP could be dead. If SD pulls their finger out they may just recoup on the loss of players they’ve already suffered… maybe.

The lag is bad in like half the games, but you can just quit out a find a new one.

I suggest playing the competitive playlist to get less lag.

I would hope they would patch the lag, then the game would be perfect imo.
