Where’s the fun in not being able to make fun of the PC guys for being whiners instead of constructive players with opinions?
Xbox/PS3/PC Subforums
Wait, I thought it was the other way around! Now I’m even more confused than normal.
I think that if SD would create sub-forums for each system players are experiencing this game on it might solve some of the flaming, baiting, and trolling issues on these forums. It would also likely resolve the PC vs Console and Console vs Console wars going on. Each of these subsections of players has different issues and it would also prevent PC Bug threads from being filled with console bugs and vice versa. Also all the PC people that don’t want to hear from console players would get their wish as would console users. I used to enjoy coming here, but I dislike it more and more every day (can’t you tell from my posts? lol).
I have used other forums that have broken things down this way and these issues never arose. This being because each of the respective groups generally stayed in their own forums.
The forum community is small enough. No reason to break it into smaller subsets.
Everyone just needs to grow up. It is an awful lot like someone fighting over which is better for dessert: cake or ice cream. Both have advantages, and disadvantages. Only the truly wise have come to the conclusion that you need some of both for maximum happiness.

But I don’t wanna!
Seriously, that is an insulting statement aimed at everyone. (Though it did make me laugh.)

I’d rather not. I play Ruse, and Ubisoft split the forums into PC and Consoles… Whenever a console person tries to participate in a strategy discussion, everyone tells them to go to the console forum, despite the discussion not being platform specific… and it constantly creates a flamewar.
Most of the things that PC and console people talk about are going to be relevant to both platforms… People should be allowed to participate in any discussion about the game, even if they don’t have it for some specified platform.

While I totally agree with you about that needing to happen. To me, that’s like saying children should just behave because they know it’s the right thing to do. It doesn’t happen.
If the only interactions btw the PC and console community appear to be generally skewed towards the negative they are only serving to fracture the community further and push people away from the forums. I’m not saying this is a fact, but it’s my opinion.

PC gamers were happy before crappy consoles came out and had to dumb down every fps game. If anything it made them sad.
I’m afraid that Splash Damage dumbed down Brink not consoles.
Mind you splash damage are a bunch of ****ing retards to be honest.
Glad you agree with his opinion, but sadly it’s still just an opinion not a fact. Sad that you need to resort to name calling for apparently no reason as I haven’t been hostile towards anyone. Again further evidence of the need for said forums. Also further support for al bout security’s earlier suggestion that it really is the PC players pissing all over this forum. Oh yeah I forgot no one on PC plays this game anyway. You mad bro?
Excuse me, but aren’t you the guy who just a couple days ago told me to go to my boss and tell him I’ll work for free because I suggested that SD shouldn’t charge money for the first DLC? Seemed pretty hostile to me. Maybe you meant that you just haven’t been hostile to anyone in this particular thread?

that was me and i definitly think its true. why should they work for free, im sure half of them went to colledge why should they spend months of unpaid work, people have bills and food can be expensive yes?
if people expected me to work for free all the time i wouldnt support them, i would quit, you are paying them for doing a hard job!

As far as I know I never said that. I might have said that I would never work for free or something along those lines. If I did come across as hostile towards you I honestly never meant to. Even though we disagree on that issue IMO your posts usually contribute to discussions rather than trying to detract.
BRINK DLC to come in July, won’t be free?
I’d like to hear why you think that’s rotten? You and me have had to put up with all the lag and problems at release so we are supposed to get a free DLC. Why should someone who didn’t have to deal with anything you or I did get free DLC? Especially when they specifically stated the DLC will be free in order to compensate for the problems at launch.
Unless you are of the opinion that all DLC should be free, in which case I encourage you to go to work and tell them from here on out you’ll be working for free.
What do you call ^this^?
This is the epitome of why sub-forums are needed. Maybe it will diffuse (some of) the cross-platform hate-mongering.
/shrug
Maybe there could be an editable wiki with a (short) list of all the common complaints/stereotypes about each platform, rather than cluster-**** multiple threads with the same redundancies. I mean, dont we all have something better to do than argue on the internet? (looks at self)
Obviously I’m joking (about the wiki, not about having better things to do, lol), but I am getting tired of hearing the same tired/overheated/hyperbolic arguments repeated over and again, effectively polluting what could otherwise be a pretty cool little space. If your point is to take a **** on something you hate, why are you here? If you wanted the game to be something different and are disappointed, get used to it…that’s life. If you really want to do something about it, SD is hiring
http://www.splashdamage.com/jobs
There are multiple threads on:
-why SD’s strategy sucks and how paid DLC is the great Satan
-why console players are mouthbreathing fug-turds
-why PC gamers would rather play spreadsheet than game
-why Brink should be ETQW2
-why brink shouldn’t be ETQW2
-etc etc.
…which imho, is just stupid (the multiple part). if you really want to have a convo about the above - it’s a free world, man. and if you really want to post multiple times on the same topic (from the list above or otherwise) - again, it’s a free world, man (relatively free, anyway - the forum rules/admins dont seem to be too heavy handed around here). I’m not telling you what to do.
but when i log on and see the above, repeated for the 2nd, 3rd, or 10th time - i start to wonder. why are they wasting so much time doing this? why am i wasting so much time doing this?
The reality is, Brink is a game. it is meant to be played. some people think it is fun. they play Brink (the game). Other people like stirring up **** on the internet. they think it is fun. They play Forum (the Internet game (i sometimes play this game too, against my better judgment). It does seem that SD is responsive enough to listen to bugs/critiques/suggestions, so the criticism is not misplaced (that might be the bethsoft forums, not sure), but if we want SD to listen to the substantive/constructive/critical comments that are warranted, what good does it do to post 2, 3, 10x on the above (or other similarly redundant topics). I’m a believer in rhetorical persuasion, and if a good case is made 1x, I’m pretty sure 10 more threads on the same thing wont further convince anyone - but it might annoy them. it annoys me (and dog knows the Internet was made primarily for me).
Your posts in this thread could have stopped right there, but they didn’t. You look down on people for doing exactly the thing that you’re doing in this thread.
Only difference is, a bunch of PC l33tist see no reason to troll you yet, so… it’s cool, right?
I was a PC FPS gamer long before I ever played a console game online. Anyone that argues superiority of console or PC gamers over one another is an idiot… no buts, howevers, or althoughs about that.
It’s easy for a little elitist scrub to paint someone as this or that by trolling them. That’s what trolls do. They drag rational posters down to their level, then beat them with experience.
–I should have never let those idiots provoke me into such a retarded debate, but what’s done is done.
–Yeah, I’ll have to look at stupid little wise-cracks like your’s on this toxic forum until I post links in my signature to youtube uploads of me dumping on wannabe-hacker l33t scrubs, but it’s really no hair off my back.
----Just can’t let a contributor to the retarded l337 PC shenanigans on this forum try to pass for a rational poster, without throwing in a word of my own… “stick by your previous actions”.
—Then, again… I might have just confused you with a different poster. However, such is the way of a toxic forum, no?
