Why the servers are getting less and less?

They’re playing Pokemon Go as already mentioned, I sure as hell aren’t getting more free time to enjoy the sunshine, even if I wanted to. Stupid sunshine.

@AnotherGuy

yeah not looking good
i have no life or i would be at the beach and stuff not playing db for 3 hrs a day that and no other game can hold my interest like db can. plus lawbreaker servers are down this weekend
how is lawbreakers? i heard cliffy b is behind it (unreal games)
Its not bad it still has a long way to go. Only played 3 hrs total as i got the key for right before the 3rd test weekend. I mostly played assassin class the other classes were to slow for me. Plus the grapling hook to the emeny back and quick slicing them to death was way more fun and a lot easier expecialy against the titan class. Still prefer dirty bomb though its still my go to game.

(blonk) #29

I didn’t meant to suggest that every single person in the entire world was (I’m not). I suggested a lot of children might be, though. Those are the ones that’d get free time over summer after all. Especially in the parts of the world DB will be prominently played in.

i dont think so,
i had a 1 year break off the game. I see more players online every day now then in 2015… and game in overall is nice and polished. I love it.

I don’t know what region you’re in, but on this side of the world the player base is drastically dropping. We’ve easily lost more than half of our regulars. I don’t care if someone has some statistic that says our player base is fine because in game tells a different story. At the moment we’re lucky to have 4 servers during the day and 8 at night where as a few months ago we could be pushing 15 odd during the day and on occasion 30 servers at night.

There appeared to be a huge growth of servers in our region during the events, but now it’s gone stale and everyone is playing something else. I suspect this will always be the case though

The latest update removing public 6v6 servers though, it’s turned even more people away. The amount of public servers with players has halved since they implemented no 6v6, because we just don’t have a big enough player base to have min10 6v6 servers running during the day and most of the serious guys like myself can’t stand 7v7 or 8v8.

(neverplayseriou) #32

@chicHouse http://steamcharts.com/app/333930 I see more players, oh wait I don’t, numbers are at an all time low ever since the open beta has been released according to the steam charts.

I hope they will buy\rent better servers because it is funny that I get 50 ping in overwatch, 70 in battlefield and unreal tournament 4. Dirty bomb is mostly 84 but with “packet losses” 10 times a match (stopwatch).

It is not my internet, its because of the servers location or they are just bad. There are less then 20 players from Israel ONLY because of the servers problem.
That’s not a server problem. That’s a routing problem. Depending on what hop the packet loss starts on dictates who has the problem. If nobody else is having these problems on the server it’s your connection. It might not be your ISP but it is a hop your ISP is routing through and ISP’s sometimes have limited options there to fix it.

Blaming a game or the servers when it IS a networking issue in your area isn’t helping you. You could instead call your ISP, show them what you are connecting to, show them the log of the hops and where your packet loss occurs (or approximately…not every hop will respond to a ping request) and see if they will do something about it.

Other players have had similar issues. There are other ways around it like finding a nearby service that offers tunnels that will change your routing. I had tons and tons of Twitch buffering issues but as soon as I tunneled to a service that was away from me the problems stopped because I was no longer being routed through a problem area.

I know some Aus and some NZ players have had similar issues.

(neverplayseriou) #34

@Amerika db is the only game on which I can get 50 ping in servers located in the eu (if lucky 24 ping), any other games go from 12-24 ping on their eu servers.

(Amerika) #35

That’s basic networking. You can easily figure out why your ping is lower to other game servers than DB by finding the IP of the servers and then doing tracerts and/or a geo locate. Typically it ends up being either a routing issue or a simple physics issue in regards to distance traveled.

Your ping to a server has nothing to do with the servers themselves. Your ping to one server in a different game that is probably in a different data center and on a different ISP is not the same as another game that is located in another data center with another ISP. Routes, hops, amount of hops, stability of those hops and geographical distance is what dictates a ping time and a consistent experience.

I had to quit FPS games back in 2008 for quite some time because of a networking issue that I could not resolve and my ISP could not/would not resolve and I had no other ISP options open to me in the area I was living. So I know all too well about these kind of issues.

big flop? your joking right?

Lawbreakers is an awesome game, i see it going far with a dev group like bosskey behind it.

(Amerika) #37

I enjoy Lawbreakers quite a bit. It’s got a ways to go but it’s also in a legit alpha state and the devs are rapidly integrating good suggestions that the community has proposed. The game has seen huge core changes in just the last few patches. It’s definitely a game still in development but so far it’s been moving the right way. I have over 30 hours in it so far and have been in every play-test so I know where it was and where it is now. And it’s pretty neat.

With that said you don’t have to end your support with one game when you play another. I play multiple games. I’m currently juggling three MP FPS games while also still playing some single player stuff. You don’t have to go all in on a “team” and then dismiss everything else. I know some people only can play sparingly, I am one of them, but it doesn’t mean you have to go hardcore fanboy and support one game only. There is room for multiple good games that you play  I fully support Dirty Bomb as it’s awesome. Lawbreakers is coming along and I am enjoying it despite it’s obvious alpha-ness in almost all areas. I even begrudgingly play OW as it can be fun to play with friends.

There is nothing wrong with supporting/loving multiple games.

Law breakers isnt bad. keep in mind its only online for 3 test weekends. If u noticed every test weekend ran there was bug fixes and lots of changes based on feedback. Also if u noticed theres more slots for game modes and another class slot. The game is in closed alpha people wait till the finished product before you go bashing it. If u feel they could change something for the better go on the lawbreaker forums and let them know. They seem to listen better than sd does about player suggestions/complaints
