Stupid question. Brink already lost 90% of players. Here on the forum i can see only die hard fans defending even own sh1t* is playable, and second group are forum members registered long time before brink.
why so many people hate brink.
#2 and #8 are linked. it’s why some players just can’t get into more team oriented games. one of the biggest reasons why MAG failed. huge maps required a lot of players, and just not enough people could get into it. at least Brink is more managable with the player size.
and bugs? what, you mean like roaches and stuff?
LS:cool:
Someone be sure to wake me when Brink requires even a fraction of the coordination, dedication, timing, and skill of this:

Until then I’ll…wait for the DLC? Just kidding

WOW…I wish I could play with those guys. Not so I could become that good, but just so I could thoroughly enjoy having my butt kicked and watching it.
This is my sentiment, I like Brink don’t get me wrong its a good game in its own right but to be honest its a huge disappointment when I look back at their previous titles.
When I first heard about Brink, long before the promo vid’s appeared I was really expecting the next big step, a step up from W:ET and QW:ET. When news started to trickle through about the reduced number of classes, the lack of vehicles, the same weapons being used by both teams, no distinct differences between each faction. I started to think “hmm OK but I am sure this is because something better will be in their place”. Unfortunately that’s not what happened.
We gained SMART which is evolutionary, we gained character customisation (but not to the great extent that advertisements for the game were always making out your char would be completely unique) but we lost a whole lot more.
In the end I like Brink and I am sure it will get better and better but deep down I will always see it as less than the previous SD titles.
love the name BTW
greased scotsman might have a cow!
This game has the worst performance ever in a video game I have ever had, basically any game in existence runs better. Seriously.
heh heh a pc user undoubtedly, that just didnt understand the game.
And understanding the ‘game’ links to performance how exactly?
Do you really think there is that much to understand? i dont … you conveniently forget that the COD dorks know how to ‘capature a HQ’ (thats right! a moving objective!) , they also know how to defend an area (domination!).
So please explain what there is to understand … i played the game (360) and understood!? it , the reason i dont play any more (and ‘hate’ is not a word i would use) is because the netcode is a total and utter crock of ****e, its that simple.
I can clearly remember playing QuakeWorld on my 28k modem and tbh it was a smoother experience than Brink … theres no excuse for it, its just crap and the patch barley made any difference.

This game was called QWTDM. The objectives were called ‘power ups, armour and weapons’, the granular scoring system was called ‘frags’, the year was 1996. Welcome to the future of online teamplay.
Gotta remember TeoH, CTF would have been a step backwards. As would have been voice comms, vsays, a working server browser, sound, graphical performance, any sense of feeling, any sense of speed, working objectives… and well - yeah.
Qizmo, GLQuake, Quakespy, Roger Willco and Threewave for all!
Precisely the reason I dislike it so much; rahdo would always respond to people on Crossfire with things like “telling the dev team about this,” “that would make for a good cvar,” and other things of that nature really gave a lot of us false impressions on the game. I came into it thinking they had made lots of cvars for things everyone wanted, but in reality they didn’t do any of that crap.
I’m still looking for these settings he talked about years ago.
This, they made it seem like brink was gonna be a good competitive game but it turned out to be another crappy game.
Didn’t know there was one until I did a community search for “Scotsman”. Weird.
It’s a Sean Connery reference
I don’t think the majority hate brink, they just don’t want to play it due to balance problems and LAG the game runs pretty bad on my high spec system
but it’s a new game things can be fixed, but maybe it’s to late huh :’(
Its not so much hate a lot of people feel, more disappointed apathy. The anger just comes from what could(should?) have been and the fact that the core of the game is pretty good, so its frustrating.
1. it has fanboys (atleast i count myself)
2.NO TDM WTF THIS ISNT CoD
3.the parkour is liek so awesome
4. its a really good game they just dont play it enough
5(no sarcasm intended here) apperantly many computer problems? many are easy to work around or very small but computer players a tatty bit OCD for the small things yes?
6.many people that are hatin here havent really even played the game and have no idea what their talking about.
7.the whike “dissapointed customer” scandal
8. its team based objective, most people really just dont understand that.
9.bugs (seem to be getting more on my nerves lately too)
10.they are jus haters and haters gonna hate
11.all the crap reviews (which many werent down to earth or by reviewers that play a game for 10 minutes and dont even try to get into them)
just my opinion in the matter. respectfully yours
