Why are interactions not instant?

Yeah that “magic-key-delay-issue” feels like “random-punishment -from the matrix”

Often it works fine , well most of the time , but then all of a sudden: nothig. press, press, keep pressing, move around…dead.

I think it´s very important to adapt to the mecanic as it is. this makes things much more easy.

Its not : see , move to teammate , stop and revive / Buff, move away.
Its more like: see , move along the teammate, buff /revive on the fly , keep moving, hope you dont get pulled to another teammate by accident ( wich is in fact the biggest problem here)

As a light medic i revive / buff while running fullspeed. Never stop ( well exept when randomly the matrix choose to take me out )

in cruical situations i slide into the downed teammate and suddenly move back into cover while reviving.

I think the bigger problem here is not the delay, but that the system doesn´t lock on properly.
It just feels weired when you want to buff someone and someone else is comming from behind, truning you head around 180 degrees with brutal force and pushes you some where you never wantet to go.

That one big point for me also ! that’s just kill the rythm of the night !

it’s a big point to balance the game also, this mechanic is defense biased ! more easy to revive someone when you are static hiding behind a barricade than running on obj with lot of people and action ! you just can’t do your medic job … except with the lazarus but it’s not enought.
the lock delay is really anoying when you need to wait sometimes 3 or 4 seconds and turn around just to look at him like the computer wants ! it got to be intant lock to decide with one to do first, really hard to choose the good one to buff when there is 3 people around you and 1 incap ! you want to wake up the incap and finally buff around like a pupet toy …
it’s another lottery, like the spread ! FPL >>> First Player Lottery SD new style !

the action to drop the sringe already take 2s, and wake up time take 3s, already 5 seconds action to revive someone.

removing this delay, and instant lock can help a lot for balancing the game. at least on PC.

Yea I hate the delay…especially when playing medic…trying to revive someone during a firefight is so hard cuz I cant do it instantly…I have to look at the target for a good few seconds to get a lock on.

The Technician’s revive mechanic wasn’t instant but it worked perfect as you could move around while reviving, even breaking off and finishing it again.

It’s the delay and the stuck animation that make it frustrating. Also getting close to your patients was an important part of being a medic. It’s just undoable on a console hence the ranged measure.

And please give us a cvar to remove the blue stroke thing !
or a way to adjust the alpha and thickness of it. when there is lot of people there is to much things to watch !!
Again blind medic syndrôme, due to the blue stroke thing and the incap incons all over the battlefield …
couple with the autolock pupet toy medics syndrôme, we can ask if medics dont take all the drugs for themself …

That “blue stroke thing” is exactly which gives me (as a light lvl24 medic) the confirmation that my buff/revive will end at the intended player…removing it is fine by me, as long as it’s a client-sided cvar, but I want to keep it.

Personally, I rarely have issues when dealing out revives, maybe because I’m always at Euro-servers close to me.
The short delay untill the action actually kicks-in, feels natural to me.
After all, I’m not running around with a revive-seringe in 1 hand, because that hand holds the frontgrip of my gun.
I have to grab it from my supply.

…and I learned to revive while sprinting/sliding to cover, makes all the difference in the world.
It’s something that has been bugging me since I got the game, its very annoying to hold X and wait few secs to throw a revive syringe while you’re on the batllefield, your basically a “sitting duck”.(easy target)

or when you’re reveing someone and a hostile comes,He can just kill you and you’re downed buddy.

Or when you hold X to buff someone and a enemy comes at melee range while buffing and you’re low on health,it hold you for 3-2 seconds which is enough to get killed.
bugging you and 1000’s of PC gamers, who no longer play the game because of this, well this and many other issues… but this one was pretty high on the list…

they had ‘revive’ perfect, in ETQW - why they changed it is beyond me…
No, it’s not just you, the system is pretty bad at times. Sometimes the buff icon prompt won’t even come up for a few seconds, leaving you awkwardly moving around trying to get it to detect your presence. Also, the detection for passing supplies and buffing is also very bad. For instance, at the start of a round, when trying to buff so meone directly in front of you, it picks up the guy all the way at the front of the pack and chases him down. You then have to lose focus and again, awkwardly move around trying to detect the nearest teammate.

Then there is the false delay also, which is a bit harder to explain. When you press and hold a button to buff yourself, cap a point, lay down a sentry/mine, etc., it doesn’t give you any feedback on the hud making you think it’s not working, the minute you let go of the key to try again, it begins.
Muste quote. It needs some sort of fixing.

Latency isn’t the problem.
