pc via steam!
Which Brink would be your first choice?
DVD retail. I hate steam, it is over used. Although; I might be getting it for ps3 first. Since my pc is super outdated. Still running a 2.0ghz cpu dua core and only 1gb of ram >.>
This is my last reply because I don’t want a hate crime going on. But, I hate it because it’s a useless process to me. I would rather have a game run off an .exe instead on an program that takes up my CPU (not really much) but it is a waste. It is a good thing for business, but for gamers it is an annoing wall that stands in my way.
Voted PC via Steam because I like Steamworks (achievements, saves to the cloud, good community integration, it’s very easy for devs to deploy patches, one-click installation, weekend deals, can install and play it even if I loose my CD and key, et cetera). I understand those who doesn’t want to be locked into a particular service, but for me the pros greatly outweighs the cons.
Cheers to Stroggafier for making an unbiased poll.
Thanks @Voxie. Too bad that the voting mechanics don’t allow first and second choice. In this case it would make a lot of sense to also ask: “If you could not get the game by your first choice, or if you were to make a second purchase, what would be your second choice?”
My first choice was (is) the 360, my next choice would be PC via Steam, for the same reasons Voxie outlines.
So far the PC (Steam, DVD and Linux) is the prefereance of almost 80% of the voters.
I wonder how representative the forum denizens are of the general gaming public?
If, say 1 million copies are sold, then this pole suggests:
280,000 copies via Steam
520,000 copies from DVD of which 60,000 are open-source supporters,
150,000 XBOX 360 enthusiasts, and
less than 50,000 lonely PS3 players
Of course should the sales hopefully be 10 million, simply multiply the numbers by 10.

console gamers tend to flock to “general” gaming forums, like gamespot, gamefaqs, gaetrailers, etc. whereas PC gamers tend to frequent more “intimate” sites like developer forums. This would explain the high volume of PC votes.
Yea I was gonna point that out as well. I would expect much different results overall regardless.
Since I am mostly a console gamer I would argue this point, but you are right :O. Since Brink will be coming out Spring of next year, I really hope I’ll have a gaming PC by then :D.
