What's the best way to deal with Free Rotation?

Current system is fine, rent-a-merc is also nice. Why not have both?

Only issue with weekly free rotation I have is that if some of the mercs I have (I own all the mercs I like) are in the rotation, I don’t play them at all for the whole duration, just because there are always more than enough of them in every team.

We’re a week into this rotation and I still see teams that are >=50% Vassilis. Super useful when attacking on Chapel. I’ve seen siamese twins or even triplets standing in the exact same spot.

F5, 1, (# of Vassili(s) on team)

Blow it out your Vas, useless snipers!

That’s a inefficient and toxic band-aid ignoring the root cause. Thing is I don’t want to forbid anyone playing a merc they want. With individual rotation only ~15% players would have access to Vassili at any given moment. This kind of stacking simply wouldn’t happen.

Well, some people are new to the game or sniping in this game, so it’s normal. Can’t you be more tolerant? Why so many people demand certain play-style from others?
You don’t like it, but they do, because they’re trying things for free for a week. Yes, it would be the same if the rotation was individual (only the matches would be more diverse, which is good), but I’m not sure if it’s possible for that to work flawlessly for everyone. I support that idea and rent-a-merc too.

And snipers are not useless, this is nonsense. Some players are, but I think there is no reason do be mad about it. :slight_smile:

My last post literally right above yours. Have you read it? I said that I don’t want to forbid anyone from using any merc they want to.

With global rotation 100% of people have access to Vassili and this results in massive amounts of them in matches. With individual rotation - only ~15%. That’s a colossal difference. I can’t make it any clearer than this.

I’m a fan of the individualized rotation idea. It allows people to try out mercs, but prevents (hopefully) excessive stacking of the same merc… especially my least favorite mercs (I’m looking at you Nader and Rhino). I can’t even count the amount of times I’ve heard my friends say “I think I might just wait 2 weeks to play again” because of how much they dislike the next rotation. In fact, I think I’ve heard it from someone different every single rotation, which leads me to believe the current system is simply not adequate. As someone that already owns all of the mercs that I want, I no longer benefit from free rotations and now I just see it as a hassle because I know that the other team is going to be filled with the most annoying merc in the rotation (I’m looking at you, again, Nader).

@MissMurder

So in the light of this “free rotation” thing going on, what’s being done on the excessive Vassilis, Naders and Bushwhackers being on one side. I mean, it’s just plain silly when theres an 8 player team and 6 of them are Naders or Vassilis running around and I have to play objective specialist and medic at the same time and no one is sensible enough to play ammunition supplier.
