Very!

But everyone complaining like little kids about the cases going to be the same as the CW is slowly killing my hype. it really is sad how you people just can’t accept that the rng is always going to be here because the devs need to earn money. They are giving you so much free stuff but you still complain, it really is beyond sad and i feel bad for the devs that have to sit and take your shit.
It’s sad that you bash on people who would be willing to spend more money if it weren’t for the RNG being so bad. It’s sad that you think RNG is the only way for the devs to earn money. It’s sad that you think it’s not okay to criticize something that frustrates a lot of players just because the devs need money. Frustrated and unhappy customers/players are not a good thing for a company, any company.
Then please tell me, if the devs can earn so much money by taking away the rng, why have they not done it? Because the truth is that they have already done the numbers, they have already discussed it and they are clearly sticking with the rng because it means more money, simple as that. Now you can cry all you want but the rng is staying.
I have spent money on this game but I would spend more if the RNG was lessened. Because I’m scared to spend my limited funds on this game. Does that not say something? I’m legit worried that my money will be wasted on stuff I do not want if I spend it on this game. I’m not alone and that is a problem.

If your customers don’t have confidence when spending is that not an issue? I have spent a lot more money on other games that offered me specific skins for sale. I can go cry more, while not spending any money that they otherwise would have had.
So in other words you’re being an adult and worrying about where your investment is going and what you’re spending your money on.

Welcome to life

Granted I agree they could have done something different with cosmetics, gun camos, character skins, etc, but it’s too late now to change all that, so just enjoy it for what it is, and if you don’t have to spend THEN DON’T.
Right, I’m not going to. Which is a shame because I want to support this game. It’s not too late to incorporate less RNG cosmetics. If anything trinkets could be a path towards this. However I will still criticize how heavy the RNG is with cases, trade ins (the ability to get literally the same loadout again which I have had happen), so on.

This is how free to play games work unfortunately, and why I wouldn’t personally go with this model.

I’d probably do something similar to counter strike, $25 for the full game and $1 to 5$ cosmetics as DLC.

At least this time i have the snowman to reach (hopefully) and i won’t feel like i wasted my time by grinding during the event and get 0 event cases.
I wonder how the chances to drop one are (if they learnt their lesson).

Because the RNG system offers you a very small chance to get what you want, even when spending money. My finances mean that I have to decide what is worth more for my money and despite my absolute love for the game DirtyBomb loses out in this regard. Yes, that IS something they should be concerned about. You think I’m the only budget player playing a F2P?

The drop rate for the Special Edition cases wasn’t even bad… me and a lot of my friends got atleast 2 each, we played around 10+ hours.

“What the Dickens?” loadout cards:

(geronimoooo) #48

I am sure hyped, I really want those skins. Hope RNG blesses me this time. Sadly, didnt get any special skin from Containment War

(bontsa) #49

Quickly skimming through this debate, I think @cornJester does have a good point in that having some cosmetics behind less RNG included would indeed bring more money to the table. I agree wholeheartedly on that it is not too late to include such things.

However it is also true RNG is one of the ways for devs to earn more money through less content, which DB still has. Obviously Valve is getting more out of TF2 because the cosmetic part of the game has literally blown up into massive propotions. Same with CS and such. What I do like in DB’s chosen road is that cosmetics seem to be ones player can somewhat see themselves too.

Update looks nice so far by the info dropped, something for ones disliking RNG and ones who don’t care for RNG included.

Pretty much every single person playing a F2P game is a budget player, only demanding free stuff and complaining like little kids when they don’t get what they want. Well anyway, i’m not gonna argue anymore. Atleast try to enjoy the event! Merry Dickens.

It’s not how all F2P games work. A game I probably cannot name but have spent thousands of hours on and much more money lets you buy gun and player camos as well as armor and accessories directly, they even have it so players can design camos and such and get a cut, thereby taking some of the work off of the dev team while supplying more cosmetic content. They have enough income to keep the game going, so it’s not always like this.

I’m so glad that the comp trinkets will be for highest competitive rank, I was scared of going back for fear of losing my current rank. Also like the time rewarding Christmas trinkets, a nice addition, and those new loadout cards look very warm and cosy

Technically speaking EVERYTHING in this game can be bought with credits, it’s just a huge time investment, so which is easier then?

In my case, I spend what little cash I make sometimes on mercs and elite cases because I do not have time to play inbetween working 40 hours a week and taking college courses.

But then again, I don’t HAVE to spend anything, it’s all a matter of what you’re looking to get for your money, and again, it simply comes down to what it means to be an adult, spending your money wisely.

That said, do I think there could be some improvements? Sure, it’d be nice if there was a loadout refresh every once in a while until all mercs had 9 cards total and each one was good and useful, instead of having a few trash cards. So even if you did get something the card would still have some niche or role it can be used for. Then of course I’d ask for merc specific cases, but that’s about it really. Everything else is honestly kinda reasonable as it is.

Everything can sometimes be bought with credits. However going back to the point of CW cases and possibly these, the drop rate was so low that it was unlikely at best even if you bought a few hundred. Clearly some are still in favor of this but if you want to be realistic, not everything you want in this game can be bought for credits.
