It has always been phoenix for me, not being totally dependent on your teams medic is nice, especially the self revive which gives you just that little extra to ruin the enemy’s day

None really. My try hard mode just turn on by itself every once in a while regardless what merc I play… and oh boy do I look silly when it happens when I play merc I can’t play because I thought it would be “fun” to play Vassili once in every 100 hours or Thunder if I felt like being annoying bastard.

Depends mostly on what map, side and what roles your team-mates have.

The this is how i mainly set up my team.

On attacking side:
Ev maps-Bushwacker.
Non-ev maps-Stoker.
If medic role is lacking in my team-Aura.

On Defending side:
Ev maps-Skyhammer.
Non-ev maps- Stoker.
If any role that is lacking in my team-Bushwacker or Aura.

Got to love tryharding. <3
