Burst rifles ruined. They were fine the way they were, it was enough to (finally) lock down the fire-rate and thus disable any weird auto-fire mouse-wheel nonsese. No need to further nerf them into the ground.

Maybe that’s the only way how they knew to fix the exploit. If it would have been a quick fix we would have had it immediately just like the EV exploit fix.
I think they wanted to stop the full auto burst fire weapons via mouse wheel.
I was enjoying the update, up until I touched the BR-16. I can’t even right now…
new look, giveaways and new maps are great. But I have mixed feelings.
I think damaging (yes this update killed them) burst weapons was probably more business call than players request, honestly I never ever saw one single request regarding burst weapons with “they must be nerfed” thread. So if that call wasnt from the players, it was from another side, business side. Nothing against good business, but (again my feeling) arent people behind the business trying to protect newbies and bad players by nerfing some good things in the game? Because if this is the cause, then just remove all the weapons and give balloons instead.
Because I can see, more and more weapons and explosives are becoming totally useless.
Dear @MissMurder Can we get top down maps for Dome, Overground and Market here?
http://dirtybomb.nexon.net/game/maps
Overall the changes are positive, but there’s definitely some steps backwards too. Burst AR nerf was uncalled for and the Execution missions are guaranteed to make the mode a toxic cesspool.
I’m also still upset about my wasted credits on Phoenix. 50k credits got me an obsidian loadout I’ll almost never use (no Crotzni), a bad silver Vassili loadout (I hate that merc), and a mediocre silver Sawbonez loadout (he’s not a bad merc but I far prefer Phoenix). Maybe one day if we have trading I can come out ahead by auctioning my obsidian off.
Execution seems dumb. Of the matches I did on Dome the attackers could never make it past the first area. At least the Stark doesn’t seem as bad as I thought it would be. Just needs to be a tiny bit faster and I think it would still be ok.
There’s no execution on dome… EDIT: my bad I didn’t get those two sentences weren’t related…
1 hour and 16 minute queue time and counting for comp. RIP competitive. We accepted and the 5th kept not joining, so our queue time eventually added to 2 hours and 30 minutes. The match was good though. The match-making in Aus must be in the hundreds of minutes.
Increasing the revive time by almost 50% on Sparks was uncalled for and is WAY too much. .1 seconds would have been enough, but she is close to useless now.
There is a lot of server to client disconnect and I am TPing around A LOT compared to last update.
Fletcher got a stealth nerf to quickdraw (possibly) and it now takes an ungodly amount of time to equip and throw sticky grenades.
Not letting anyone see the enemy mercs is absolutely un-needed and is just a weird change in every shape and form. I don’t think ANYONE complained about this and it should be reverted.
I wanted to be excited for this update, but I am changing my opinion to disapproval. Very disappointed in the team for putting out un-needed changes. As a long time player and EXTREMELY active community member, I feel that I am going to take a break from this game for a while for the first time since I started playing back in June. It’s a shame really. Expected a lot more from this update. Or at least for the positive changes to out weigh the negatives.

We are working on that as we speak
Developer still couldn’t figure out how to allow players to bind their controls. The bug that doesn’t allow a player to bind their “Home” key is still there. Wish Splash Damage could hire at least one competent programmer who knows something about how to program control customization.
Its a shame.
you can edit an .ini file and change the bind for home key.
file is here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dirty Bomb\ShooterGame\Config\DefaultInput.ini
scroll to the bottom and change the lines near the bottom to something like:
[Engine.Console]
ConsoleKey=Tilde
TypeKey=Tab
Save, load game, set your bind and home will now work
I like the update so far. I find the rare cards annoying when they arn’t the ones you want. So they are stuck there forever, cant reroll (yet) or trade in… just taking up space in my loadout list
I actually like the changes to the BR16, it feels a lot more powerful and stable. The slower fired rate means I can actually aim my shots without messing up accuracy and slightly bigger clip size also helps a lot. I understand people really liked it because it could fire really quickly, but using it now it just feels so good and powerful.
This update is kind of strange in my opinion… beside the change on burst fire weapons, the most bizarre thing is this execution mode.
I’ve done quite a lot of rounds in and I must say that if there wasn’t mission in this mode I would totally avoid this mode. It’s based on the ability of the defensive team to hidde better than ever and wait for attacking team to fall into a trap; I mean , why the hell does the defensive team win if the time runs out ? At a moment, I was the last member of my team, we were defending, 10s left, 3 members in the opposite team, time out…I win, but why ? I’m alone, vs 3 guys, one bomb to defuse and it like the game said : “You’re God, whatever you do, you’ll win”, that not fair or logical.
This game mode can be really interesting if it was kind of CSGO like game mode with OP merc. Teams start so close to each other that Skyhammer can strike the whole opposite team in one strike, Kira can just sit and watch the “Light from the sky” and Bush can …hide in a bush (yeah too easy) and let his turret do the work. Compare to some other merc that don’t have those kind of skills it’s pretty unbalanced (oops I said that … )
On the other hand, I’m pretty pleased with Stroker that give some great opportunities to block a team with his fire. Giving Phoenix to everyone was also a good thing, that offer people to play med more often, even if ofr a time we’ll see a lot of “standard non carded” Phoenix jumping around, it may give some people (like I ) the envy of playing more Meds Merc.
I must admit that I more on “I like this update” than “I’m don’t like it” but, I think it still need some little improvement but, heh that why we’re there, nice job with this one Devs ! (Now make my Loadout give me Gold and more cards, I hate plum xD )
Enjoying the changes in general, though as with every update: a load of new bugs & small UI changes that can be a bit of a hassle… but the gist of the new content is pretty fantastic; I love having Stokers in the server (though eagerly await when the obsidian luster wears off & both teams aren’t 75% Phoenixes).
My initial opinion was that this update was amazing, new mode, new maps, new merc and free stuff what could go wrong with that? Well if you take all that away and look at the little things that were changed then you hit the problem with this update. Nerfing burst rifles to the point were they are pretty much pointless, its not like they were OP before so why the change? Still no game balance, im sick and tired of joining games to be put on either the stacked team or the obvious weaker team and having to deal with people either given me abuse for being part of the stack or Im trying my best to be patient with new players that probably shouldnt be in open lobbies. These 2 issues alone have left me frustrated and contemplating my future with this game, dont get me wrong I love DB but it seems as every update brings so really cool stuff and some unwanted things like unnecessary weapon nerfs and the lack of core mechanics fixed. Im grateful for the free stuff and I adore the dev team behind this game as well as the community but things need to change. Just open up an early test build of every big patch for the community, give us chance to have our say on your ideas that way if things like the burst rifle nerfs are felt to be not needed you guys could look at other ways to balance them. I understand you cant please everyone and yes there are many people that love this most recent patch but atm I cant say I do, even though I initially said that I approve it. I trust you guys to take our feedback seriously as you always do, I just hope in future our feedback is requested during a build for the next update.
First matchmaking game, the server crashed. The next 3 were VERY evenly matched, what a dream. Played as solo, party of 3 and party of 5.
Fletcher… poor fletcher
even with lock on it will take some time to get used to the new (old, is that correct) timings. Seemed like either because of the lag, or something else, 30% of the stickies I tossed out actually were tossed. The entire animation would play through, but when I click the detonator, nothing went boom.
A friend and I have noticed that it seems like weapon switch timings has been every so slightly increased as well. I don’t recall reading about anything of the sort, but just feels like 1ms slower lol.
This first week or two is going to suck. 3 stokers on underground in competition mode is ridiculous lol. Friendly fire being turned on would be hilarious in the upper plant room.
Haven’t tried out burst rifles yet but I can say that Dome could use some tweaking (I think, still might be people not knowing the map). Seems more defender bias than Chapel.
