Weapon Class Preference

(Luk) #21

Agreed. Medium Engy w/ Shotty & Long Rifle for the lulz. I’ll make it work xD

(vexicat) #22

I’ll go with the SMG,since I pre-ordered from wallmart and got the Spec-Ops pack.:infiltrator:

Pistols are actually my favorite weapon in any shooter, but they don’t have the power to be a main weapon.

I originally considered A heavy medic with a minigun for similar reasons as earlier posters. But it seems to me that would make you a HUGE target for the opposing team. Not only are you the medic, but you’re one of the main things stopping them from rushing in.

So I think I will prefer the Hjammerdiem for my heavy medic. It will stop people from getting too close to me, and make them back off when i go to heal, yet its not the icon of area denial that the Gottling is.

I’m liking the minigun too, and based on the gameplay footage, it looks like it is going to play out well as a support weapon.

But you are a Heavy, which means you will likely be in and/or around teammates, which means they will be (or should be) doing their best to make sure you can keep bringing the pain.

(DarkangelUK) #25

That’s part of the reason… the other part is that my reflexes suck at getting me into ironsight and aiming at the head quickly :frowning:

(ClickClickBOOM) #26

do i remember it wrong or were you getting BRINK for xbox? otherwise we should have a few games together  also been a lifetime fan of your movie team!

(DarkangelUK) #27

Thanks  I’ll be getting it for PC, not a controller fan.

(Shadowcat) #28

So based on your history, can we expect you to use a light bodytype to come from the most random and unpredictable directions possible and start spraying with your SMG?

(Bullveyr) #29

this

10chars

(DarkangelUK) #30

What history would that be? You can expect me to be offline quite a lot on my own with no bots exploring the tricking potential.

(DouglasDanger) #31

I’m looking forward to all of the guns, but I really want to try out the shotguns. Shotguns can be fun if done well.

(Mustang) #32

Can’t think of any recent games where I’ve actually enjoyed using a shotty
The extra spead coupled with the slow reload is not enough to make up for the small damage increase
If it were to be tighted up again (smaller spread, faster reload) it’d be worth another look

(Shadowcat) #33

Your tricking history

(murka) #34

AR/SMG for sure. AR for the most part and smg when out of ammo and need to finish off or just close enough for it to kill.

(Realirony) #35

I can see shotties being a big player favorite in Brink mainly because all of the maps we’ve seen appear to be close quarters combat for the most part. There are instances of longer ranges but most of the fighting seems up close and personal.

I think shotties werent too exciting in other games because of how vast some of the maps were. I’ll have a custom shotty that I’ll enjoy using I’m sure. Maybe they’ll have a wep attach for the shotty like a choke that will cause the shot to group a little tighter for longer range shots.

(tokamak) #36

They were pretty popular in ETQW until they got nerved.

(Schwarzeis) #37

I think I’d rather have an assault rifle over a SMG or a pistol

(Jess Alon) #38

Heavy: Heavy Shotgun/AR
Medium: Shotgun/SMG
Light: SMG/Caesar Revolver

(irvine05) #39

Ill be using AR and SMG

(dazman76) #40

I went for AR, because I love a good AR  I’ll definitely be trying each at some point. It does seem in most games, that shotties are spoiled by a focus on mid to long-range combat. Usually when you get the chance they’re pretty satisfying to use, but due to other factors you always seem to be better off sticking with an AR or SMG. Shame really, shotties had such illustrious early years in FPS games  heh
