I read “boobs” and “flashing” and arrived here disappointed.
Weapon Bobbing and Muzzle Flash
Barrels are ported to reduce muzzle rise and or kick. It actually causes the muzzle flash to be in your view, which hinders shooting in the dark. Some barrels are ported in a “V” style, this causes the flash to come out at the top of the barrel on either side. When firing at night this flash can blind the shooter. I would never use a ported pistol for my concealed and carry weapon.
Ported barrels bring the flash above the barrel into your line of sight vs non-ported barrels the flash is generally even with the barrel.

There are also side ported weapons.

Arguably with most “pistols” you need to use a lower velocity round because depending on the self defense situation you could end up blasting yourself in the face out of the ports if you end up in a close up situation. (Someone trying to wrestle to gun away from you)
Also I was talking about assault weapons and the muzzle breaks that hide flash or divert it differently. Anything you change on the front end of a weapon will alter muzzle flash. As well as the type of ammunition you feed the weapon.
Hopefully there will be muzzle breaks in the game that can tone the flash way down. Unless you like making yourself completely obvious. (Besides your red glow.)
If it reduces flash it would be a flash hider/suppressor, not a muzzle break.
I always opted for flash hiders/suppressors and full suppressors in Army of 2 to reduce my agro.
What do you shoot Jess?

IRL? I carry a model 327 with remington golden saber loads so it doesn’t kick like a mule.
For fun I have SW1911eseries and a glock 17.
I also have a M&P 15-22 so I can “pretend” I have an AR but plink on the range with cheap 22 ammo.
You?
Edit: The glock’s not just for fun It’s also my destroy anyone stupid enough to break into my house gun.
My wife also carries a 38 special 5 shotter smith as well as her long barreled 357 that she likes to shoot 38 through at the range. My wife can’t shoot right now because she’s pregnant but when she wasn’t she beats my marks at the range every time. And I’m no slouch.
Jess-Carry: HK P200SK 9mm, Range/Zombie/Bieber Apocalypse FN PS90 TR
My life likes my 90 and shooting 22 and I’ve thought about getting her Sig Mosquito, but that would eat into my rather limited firearm/shooting budget. Saving up for an FN SCAR 16S!

FN is probably my favorite company. I’ve always wanted to own a Five seveN but can’t bring myself to justify paying for the ammunition.
16S… Shoots 223s? I’ve always preferred more compact weapons with high mag counts. Like the glock. I like P90 and F2000. They make them here in the stat in semi auto format. I’ve thought about picking up the F2000. You can get extend DBMs that hold 50 rounds and they load fairly fast once you break them in.
How do you afford that 5.7 ammo? jeez.
Not yet, we’re all waiting on that. It will be very money…or not money since we can save tons of dough by getting those 500 round 22 bricks for cheap
I like the silhouette of FN weapons in games because of the “big block with holes knocked out of it” instead of “pipe with stick” look to them.
I’m still amazed that people use the “it’s more realistic” argument on a game like brink… where every guy is super cartoony, can run and jump like a superman, and is dressed in fancy colors!
The bob doesnt looks odd because of the aestethics IMO, it’s odd because it can block the players view if it’s not well implemented. Here i find it funny, I usually play weapon model off anyway.
Peace!
It’s seriously so much fun to learn how to operate and shoot different styles of fire arms and figure out what you prefer. I’m not going to collect 1000 guns or anything but I count myself lucky that I’m allowed the privilege to own my own fire arms and practice with them.
Heh yeah I’m only taking the piss. I used to go hunting with .223, .222, 30-30 and .22Mag rifles when I was younger and could do it on my old man’s licence.
I’d probably head over to the kwack shack if the zombie outbreak went down.
Haha. I saw this commercial and weeped for the image of my country.
I think I read somewhere that you can turn “weapon bob” off if you want, but I may be confusing it with something else.
And we can’t really know anything about how leveling works until we know how much XP it takes to move up a level. 1000 xp per level? 2000? I haven’t seen anything stating the requirement.
XP reqd to level would be like almost every game out there. A sliding scale that increases exponentially as you level up.
