Like all of the scenes though!
Scene 2 is very nice too, lots of depth.

hm… i just now had the idea (after opening the thread in a tab but before seeing any new response) that he could announce the next theme now as we can consider the results pretty much final and unambigous (although i wld liked to see an odd numbered contestant as winner :P), and this way we could save 2-3 weeks which is pretty much time. peg could tell what does he think what would sage think of this idea, i cant know if he would feel uneasy if “his” competition would run a round without him… lets hope pegasus will assure us of the opposite :stuck_out_tongue:

oh p.s., always forgotting, congratz, i also think its very nice

I’m two minded about this:
It’s obvious that chris won this contest, so he’s the one that decides the next theme.
I also agree that if chris would create a new post, calling it :“scene from theme-round 3” it would save us 3 weeks, so I’m all in favour!

On the other hand Sage posted some rules about this contest: one of the rules being: “The winner will send a pm with a theme suggestion to me, so we can prevent totally inappropriate themes.”
Sage came up with this contest, he made the rules, so we should respect his rules…

Again, on the other hand, what’s the definition of a “totally inappropriate theme”?

if we take the rule by spirit, im sure chris wont make such theme so we could go on, if we take by letter then ofc we’ll have 2 wait him. about t.i.t.s i think an example 4 that would be asking for depicting war crimes, et c.; (i couldnt imagine anything else; as even “off-topic” -> non-et or non-ww2 themes would be allowed my guess is this, think about an egyptian/roman/greek, or middle age, or futuristic shadowrunnish cyberpunkish theme, much to create lol. or a quake wars theme, to see how would it look in q3e et :P, wow!) when hes back we can have the real definition as after this im also curious

I don’t fancy at all hijacking Sage’s thread, but on the other hand waiting 2-3 weeks will be a bit too much.
I think as long as we wont get carried away or act foolishly we should be fine.

I think a new rule should also be added but be pretty hard to check or enforce where entries cant be from a WIP map as well as a released map, I think indy’s entry had been in production for sometime and just happened to feature a bridge, I mean why was there a whole village either side of the shot made and not used…

I’ll try think up a nice theme sometime today after this hangover gone, I think themes that are picked should be doable without the need for vast amounts of custom textures and so on as to not deter people taking part.

I am not proposing you cant use the map afterwards, I am saying its bit unfair to others when someone has already started a map before a particular round has started and it just happens to cover the criteria of the theme.

True, but it’s like you said: it’s gonna be hard to check if the contestant already made a map beforehand or not.

How about having a few small “while making” radiant shots? I feel bad for stumbling in my entry now.
We almost need a crazy/wild theme that never would’ve been done(normally) for ET, eh? Then maybe afterwards, all the entries get put into a larger map for players to check out?

I’m starting from scratch next one, definately.
