VERY poor ATI performances - what's the exact status on this matter?

Yes I must say, changing textures does not do much for performance at all.

Changing texture detail helps lower spec dual core cpus as it lowers the amount of texture transcoding required.

lol, this makes me laugh, my duel core imac runs the game better than my quadcore now. even though my quadcore also has a better graphics card. quadcore is around 40 frames per second, my duel core imac is at 100 fps.

ATI 5770 for my quad
2.4ghz Q6600
2GB ram

ATI 5670 for my imac.
i3 processor
4GB ram.

and don’t tell me the RAM makes up the difference, because seriously define what is meant about minimum requirements. minimum to me is something that runs smoothly on the lowest settings, not something that is on the lowest settings and is jerky. minimum states 2gb, and the rest of my system is above minimum spec yet the performance is less than a below spec machine.

the game itself i would say is fine, couple of tweaks cough *container city security spawn point * cough but the lag issue is annoying. I am playing something at the moment that resembles minecraft.

Hello all, Real love this game but the problem is that i can only play it on my laptop whit a Nvidia GT 435M. My main computer whit a ATI 5850 have realy big problems whit this game, It runs on 10-20 FPS (it seems) and yes i do have the RC3 ATI driver.

Tryed to lower all settings to minimum and everything off but it just dont help.

Realy dont like to play a FPS game on a 15" screen hope for a fix soon.

It actually does for me BUT,the game is so poorly poorly optimised that the FPS still go down to 10-15-25 when heavy firefights going on in large areas. >.<

And overall it doesn’t feel smooth even when i have 60 FPS in a tiny corridor.
It’s like SLI/crossfire microstuttering but i dont even have crossfire/SLI.

This company is the worst i experienced in a long time. At first they throw out garbage software, than make up bull**** excuses how it is our fault the game won’t run properly. I am pretty sure you know why you have chosen steam as your release platform.

The game runs stable and smoothly on a much weaker dual core cpu on a nvidia laptop for a friend of mine. The cpu can handle the game, but when we use the so called “hotfix” it is suddenly to close to the minimum specs tho nvidia users could use the exact same cpu? It is one thing to **** up coding but making up those flimsy excuses makes me really angry…

FOR THIS GAME!?Maybe for Crysis 3 SD but not for your “idTech4” shooter.Seriously,i played Doom 3 with a X1950XT and a dual core CPU and now on the same engine with a new game (which looks worse then doom 3 at some parts) i have to get a Corei5?Yeah,sure SD how could i forget that i have to pass 2 CPu generations for a shooter on the same engine as Doom 3 ome years ago.

I suspect it’s the Radeon. I have a core i7 laptop with a GTX 460 that has never crashed.

if the game would run normaly and smooth, maybe u could get 5-10 fps… but even when u got 30-50 fps… randomly the fps are dropping everywere around the map and… its just ****ing broken.

i can play Crysis 2 on High with no problems, and u tellin us we need to lower the texture resolution?

I wouldn’t even bother that much with lowering the resolution a bit to get this game running while waiting on patch but the game looks like UT99 on low.

this is a modified ati driver by a user from guru3d. this driver works best on my hd4870. most of the time i get 60+fps. in larger areas (the big room in the aquarium map for instance) its drops down to 40. i run the game in native resolution (1680x1050) and can even turn aa and af on. almost no difference in fps. only with shadows enabled i lack ~10fps.

the driver even works better than the rc3 hotfix driver from ati. be absolutely sure to read the description though and make sure you understand it to make it work properly.
