Yup, the same old standard stuff.
Two teams, one (main-)objective
I would not mind a escort mission that uses a neutral starting train in the center of the map on a symmetrical map. Both teams wrestle for control of the trains direction. Who ever wins the train first, from that point on is the attacker and moves toward the opposite side of their spawn, with 3 road blocks/destroy track objectives for defenders. The guys on offense have destroy blockage & repair track. Best of two stopwatch if one team wins the train twice it is a automatic win for them.
Thoughts?

Sounds very cool, I could imagine having quite some fun playing such a map. As much as I got used to/enjoy asymmetrical maps/matches, due to Brink and now DB, I’ll allways stay a symmetry lover in my tiny little fps-heart:wink:
Depot was a dual objective map in RTCW, in that both teams had to blow something up and defend something against the other team blowing it up. This map spawned an entire community (Happy Penguin) which was one of the longest lasting communities in RTCW. To say dual objective is not popular is patently false, although it’s not to everyone’s taste of course.
Maybe they should add a map where the defenders can actually push the attacking team back an objective and force them to move forward again. Something like a forward spawn point main objective that can be recaptured if the defenders detonate a c4 on a side objective.
That but also just undercutting the attack by capturing forward spawns or disabling shortcuts.
So we’re talking about main objectives here.
There’s just such great satisfaction in capturing the forward spawn at the right moment and seeing the entire opponent team spawn drop from the sky somewhere along the horizon. Even at that distance you can just hear their teeth gnash.
Question, is it in any way possible to take the essence of those maps and make them a part of a larger objective?
The more map types the better! A dual-obj map would be fun to try out or Raviolay’s tug-of-war idea :). We have a mini-one of sorts in the 1st obj gate in Camden ;).
