Agreed.
Even though I still hope they could add this feature. Would be sick.
What? I’ve never heard about this. What kind of trick jumping are we talking about? I didn’t play ET, but I’ve played a **** ton of Quake and Defrag. And strafe jumping, plasma climbing, rocket jumping, map glitch jump pads and stuff like that had nothing to do with your FPS and can be replicated in any engine.
I looked up some youtube videos on Trick Jumping in ET, it’s just strafe jumping, so I’m confused, what’s so special about those numbers?

The strafe jump is the result of a bug in the Quake engine, a bug that became part of the games using that engine and pretty much paved the way for fast movement shooters. As for FPS values, your number of FPS can change how you move/your animations. The best example I have is in Call of Duty 4, if you have 333fps, you can jump higher and longer than if you had 250fps/125fps etc.
John Carmack is the Chuck Norris of coding …
has a bug in his game, just created the best way to move around in an FPS game
Yes I’m aware of the origin of strafe jumping, however I have not heard about these numbers. Is it easier to strafe jump at those frame rates or something? Because strafe jumping will work regardless of FPS. Same as CoD 4? Higher jumps?
“Magic” FPS values are not magic in W:ET anymore. All of the mods fixed this, see g_fixedphysics cvar in pub mods and b_fixedphysics in ETPro.
QW = Enemy Territory:Quake Wars
ET = Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory
DB = Dirty Bomb
These are games that Splash Damage (SD) has developed

I brink to that ! Cheers !
TBH, I’ve only looked into DB because I and lots of other people are incredibly nostalgic into the unique and different elements of FPS that ET offered. Still an excellent game 10 years later, though fairly dead - especially in Australia, I don’t know about Europe/America etc… To bring back a newer, more modern version of ET with similar movement capabilities, in my opinion would be a huge success. Someone said earlier making it without TJ just makes it like COD, thats pretty true, I don’t think it would attract too much interest.
Just my humble opinion
