Are you sure? There is always a change that the parashoot wont open and so would the other one, if the first one fails. I still hear on news about failed skydivings.

Though i’d really like to skydive.

Sky diving is one of the safest sports. The odds of that happening are very low. And just incase divers were to pass out or get heart attack or something in air. the chutes will automatically open at 3,000 feet. :slight_smile:

I never knew about that the parashoot opens automatically at 3,000 feet, that’s about 914 meters i think.
Though i doubt we have such great technology here :o
Oh well, skydiving can wait till I visit USA :slight_smile:

I was under the impression Estonia was one of the more technologically developed counties in eastern Europe, especially around Tallinn. But either way, altimeter control is available and probably mandatory (for sport/civilian jumping) worldwide

I believe it came out in the Early 90’s for chutes to open at certain feet (or meters). I think all parachutes these days have it standard with them when purchased. The Tandem (2 people on 1 chute) was made in late 80’s. Still hasn’t been fully allowed by the FCC either here in the states. It’s been in testing stage for over 20 years. All that means is you have to sign more papers lol.

Have you ever had that your parashutes wouldn’t open and you slammed on the ground?

(Sabayon) #27

No lol… That happens 1/10,000. Its so very rare.

Though funny story… One of the instructors who has done over 2,000 jumps in his career at this Airfield I jump at. One of his legs is shorter then the other because he didn’t land correctly once :wink:

In Eastern Europe, yes we are. In fact we are 28th in the world list (2007) of technologically developed countries. It’s just that some nations have jokes on us as beeing Third World Nation.
Tallinn not Tallin :wink:

@Sabayon
You have bought yourself a parachute?

@Scary
If that would have had happened, i doubt he would be with us atm.

I haven’t yet bought one. I’ve just used the ones at the place I’ve gone too. Though they make you purchase your own helmet and suit.
