I reflexively roll my eyes when reading reddit posts about the ‘competitive community’ but then I realise: a subset of users did actually have private servers and voip like a million other pc fps communities from days of yore. Yet SD won’t sell that functionality to anyone, it’s just baffling (throw in a few echo stats and an EGA-coloured server name and even Nexon could flog it).
Honestly, the whole situation is just mortifying.
