I can see a new perk happening because of molotovs
Slow Burn: Flames from Molotovs last twice as long.
It could then be used for more than hurting enemies, it could be used to cut off paths for a duration
Throwing Objects...?

I don’t see this happening, since molotovs themselves are most likely an ability you need to buy. In essence, what you described is a perk for a perk.
Molotov can ad a lot of changes in the gameplay ! really want to see it in action !
There could also be upgraded versions of it, which allow for slow burn.
Ofcourse, none of us know
Its all speculation.
Anyone have a link to where we know molotovs are back in? I remember hearing about it.
[QUOTE=madoule;248947]and heres the link

Funny I was hoping for a dev. Not that I don’t believe you Dark. I was hoping for a dev to show other people who don’t believe me.
googled the hell for it. nuttin solid enuff to post as source. but i found posts from darkangelUK all over the web, plus different other sources that say molotovs are back in since EGE. plus i’m pretty damn sure i read it too mentioned by ham, wedgewood or teh likes

Here is a pic of a player holding a molotov from the training video they show players before they play the demo. This was from EGE. You can also see the updated HUD elements, so the build is a newer one.

The actual video has been taken down for copyright claims by Zenimax.
Also, a quote from a hands-on: (he played it at EGE)
“With soldiers you can share the ammunition and throw Molotov’s,…”

I guess you could say a photo of a recent build of the game is a quote from the developers
Even though I agree that it’s unlikely, the sentry gun is a perk and its upgrades are all perks.
Even though I agree that it’s unlikely, the sentry gun is a perk and its upgrades are all perks.
But the turret is an essential part of the Engineers class arsenal - turret and mines - and as such, a good number of his abilities focus on upgrading these as with the integral part of all the classes:
Engineers can upgrade turrets and mines.
Operatives can upgrade their interrogation.
Medics can upgrade buffs and healing potential.
Soldiers can upgrade their combat efficiency.
In many peoples eyes, the turret (and mines) is what makes the Engineer a “true” Engineer. A soldier without molotovs, is still just as much a soldier.
I see Molotovs as just something the Soldier can do. He is supposed to be able to specialize in grenades, and I see this as being more general, like perks to increase his max nade count, splash damage, decrease cooldown time, etc. Having an upgrade for it would be like having an upgrade for the Operatives Sticky Bomb - it seems like wasted potential. I could be wrong and they might ave an upgrade for it, but I highly doubt it.
But is there a perk to change its properties or boost it? (which is what the original post about boosting molotovs was about) I doubt it.
not matter[so much to care], cuz nowdays hardware barely can handle GFX and netcode without impacting/screwing other aspects of gameplay, like physics, AI and sound.
so until average PC’s[let alone 6 ages old boxes “capablities”] get more horsepower, its not happen.
crippled implementations, wich you can found in [notorious/aged]Havok/PhysX-alike stuff will not matter/impress/enough to care/accept 2 real product/work.
