Sooo… Am I the only one who doesn’t mind at all? As long as they’re not spamming voice chat, I don’t care about them. They can write down as many insults as they want but I can play the game instead of looking at the chat. Even if what they say is very offensive, I still don’t mind.
In fact, I like guys like the one you posted because they make chatting more interesting. I wouldn’t like it if everyone was polite. That would be boring. Some of those guys use some pretty damn clever insults too :stuck_out_tongue:

Because it just ruins the ambiance. Even if there’s no real ambiance because no one talks. I appreciate to be able to play without being harassed, and I am pretty sure it’s the case for everyone. It begins with one guy, and then you encounter another one, and another one… The DB community is more or less at its start, it would be cool if we could keep the players as nice as possible. There’s just a lot of more interesting ways to exploit the chat rather than picking a random guy and begin to harass him.

Also, I am pretty sure you wouldn’t love to be called a “random -insert your insult here-” in any way. Actually, I am pretty sure you would smack down the one who dares to call you like that, and use his teeth to scrape the ground as strong as possible.

What? No! Not at all! I don’t mind as long as they stay verbal. If they:

  • Start screaming in voice chat or play songs/whatever
  • Votekick me
  • Try to convince everyone in the server that I hack(this has gotten me banned from a few servers in other online games)
  • Block me
  • Teamkill me
  • Avoid reviving me/resupplying me

then yeah, I’ll get mad. Btw, that’s a list of things that annoyed me in various online games, not just DB(obviously). Trash talking is fine by me. We’re not playing chess, we’re killing each other :wink:

Trashtalking in chat is not different than trashtalking in voice chat in my opinion.

You can’t ignore voice chat. You have to stop playing for a moment to mute the idiot. It’s not just letters at the side of your screen.

I don’t mind too but, when it happens really often this is very disturbing.
And as you said, this is the case for others online games, particularly FPS games :confused:

I’ve seen and heard a good amount of trash talk in dirty bomb, obviously even more since open beta. Yeah, I know, it’s part of online games and it can’t really be avoided. We don’t have dedicated server admins monitoring games 24/7 and to an extent people should be allowed to say whatever they want.

Although I despise this kind of behavior, I can mute or just ignore most of these trolls. But it’s %#&@-heads like the one in this screenshot that I’d like to see suspended or permanently banned from the game/community. I see these types all the time; N’-word this, Fggt’-that, etc, etc.
