This event is obviously fixed to a certain degree, but it’s nice that they’re making it seem like people can get involved.
There’s 4 pre-determined specific mercs each week, all of which were selected with one being a favorite, one being a contender, and two that no one cares about.
Obviously Proxy will take this week, because she’s against 3 other mercs who aren’t as popular as she is. Also I noticed my partner and I were receiving ‘Get X amount of XP with Proxy in your squad’ missions…
Next week, it’ll be the same. One merc will obviously be favored over the pre-determined 3 it’s put against to have the advantage, so it’ll come out on top.
Plus, SD already knows merc usage stats from their Echo program. You can’t really tell me that incredibly detailed balancing system that covers all aspects of the game hasn’t already given them such basic information as userbase merc usage percentages.
It might truly be up to the community in week 5 when the top 4 go against each other, but SD already pre-determined the 4 finalists. Most of us can probably guess them. I’m sure this event is being drug out pointlessly just for the sake of lack of content to roll out.
