The Grandeur needs it's accuracy reworked

So I’ve been fairly vocal about this gun, but I want to talk about this one specific aspect of it before we get into any other discussion.

When you fire the Grandeur, the spread widens like any other gun, but my issue with this is two things

  1. Since the spread widens at a short rate, this means you can fire it at it’s max rof in close quarters to get results
  2. The way the spread reduces after firing is far too slow, and often leads to inconsistency.

So my fix for this is as follows

  • Have the spread go the max value immediately after shooting, so it’s basically impossible to fire the gun from the hip at the max rof, and have decent accuracy
  • Have the rate at which the spread reduces, be drastically increased, so you are rewarded for waiting about 0.167 seconds after firing your gun, with the same pinpoint accurate shots every single time.

What this results in is the sort of Gunslinger style for this gun, in that you are not rewarded for firing as fast as possible but for taking your time with your shots. The skill comes from both your aim, but your ability to control your fire and take your time.

This also means the player then is allowed to make a tactical decision in regards to hipfire vs ads

Hipfire means you stay mobile, but you fire only about 3 shots per second, while ads sacrifices mobility, but you get completely accurate shooting, and are able to fire 4 shots per second, upping your damage output and ttk.

If I had more time to make a video on this sort of thing, to better explain what I am going for, I would, and I am sorry if this still seems confusing. But to sum this up, I want this gun to be more like the Deagle, in that firing it as fast as possible isn’t going to work, you need to control the spread of the gun to get those double shot headshots from across the map.

Given the recent changes, this is even more important, headshot consistency with this gun is going to more crucial than ever.

They really should have only nerfed bodyshot damage to 38-39 and adjusted other parts of the rifle instead.

I would have been fine with 35, but now the dps is pretty abismal.

What was changed again? The amount of bloom per shot right?

I feel like they should just increase the max bloom (how inaccurate hipfiring can reach) so you get punished more for spamming. Still seems like it blooms pretty quickly to me and just that the max isn’t very punishing. _Inb4 that’s just a reversal of what was changed _

I don’t think it was changed but you’re on track to what I am thinking. The Bloom to max should be instant, in exchange for the recovery time after shooting being drastically quicker. We’re talking about 1/6th of a second, to go from max bloom to a fully accurate shot. This will make the gun feel more consistent with hipfire, and make those double headshots easier assuming you can already aim.
