Terrain too dark

(Locke) #21
well I deleted most of the things except the terrain, the fact theat they are pitchblack is because of the _lightmapscale 2.0

But without it i can’t get the map to compile, I did some searches on the error:
too large for desired sample size/lightmap size/lightmap scale combination, increased sample size

But didn’t find a solution :frowning:

well it said to split the bruhes into smaller ones, but that would be terrible in this situation.
Hmm, it’s because of the lightmapscale 2.0? Would a different lightmapscale fix it, maybe? I’ve tried 2.0 and 4.0 and neither have fixed the problem. And yeah, splitting the brushes into smaller ones would be terrible, I’m already near the limit…

a lower one would be better, but can’t got lower then 1.9 (I tried)

you both are so cute :slight_smile:

_lightmapscale. standardly 1.0 is used. lower values take higher compiletime. shadows become more detailed.

@lock: DELETE YOUR WHOLE MAP.

kidding :slight_smile: delete all of your worldspawn entries, take out every single shader.

then slowly start to add thing after thing and spot the error. those compile times cant be the end of such a great map :wink:
