you cannot argue with majority! More maps yahay!
[SURVEY] The Future Of Dirty Bomb - Community Feedback
Funny how the favourite objective is EV, but with the preferred new gamemode the standalone EV comes last.
edit: thinking about it, TF2 has these payload race maps, where both teams have a payload and need to reach the end first. That could be interesting. Or similarly, a payload that starts in the middle and can be pushed both ways, depending on which team has more members in range. (like a moving king of the hill)
I’d rather see dual objective maps. They don’t have to be big or complicated to be good. See MP_Bridge for rtcw

Now I just want to know what SD will do with it …
Feckin cannot believe folk voted for standing beside a slothlike EV as the favourite objective. Christ on a bike I hope SD dont action that one…
For the love of god give us a decent Doc Run objective - not the current chore of carrying a feckin random container. If nothing else it will add a whole other reason to use the faster mercs like proxy…and might even be fun and exciting - god forbid!

the votes mostly say that current EV escort is better than current Doc-run. and it is true.
vote would have been different with Bridge-alt ending, let alone something like Island docrun or Frostbite

i was thinking the exact same thing! Delivery is supposed to be that obj where a fast merc shines, but whats the point if
a) you have to push into enemy spawn
b) delivering takes forever, meaning you will have to clear the area of ALL enemies
c) returning is slow as well, so there is no need to immediately cover the doc-runner.
Doc runs in RTCW/ET are some of the most exciting objectives, and they bring the whole team together. Picking up the docs always spiked the excitement, and everyone wanted to do it.
Attack really has to make a conscious effort at covering the doc runner, while defense attempts to snipe them and return obj.
In DB delivery is a CHORE, nobody wants to pick the jug from spawn and carry it to obj, except new players. Sometimes i’d as much as pick it up and bring it to the frontline, but running around without being able to fight back, while having a huge target on your back is NOT FUN. And no, it does not encourage teammates to cover you, since first all the enemies have to be cleared out anyways, and there is no danger in letting you die, as obj can’t be returned fast either.
The only reason I ever heard for not giving us doc running (runner can fire/use abilities as normal) is to avoid making a rambo merc. Except that such a rambo would have very little chance of standing up against a team that can insta-return obj as soon as its dropped.
tl;dr
leave the current delivery obj as they are
introduce new delivery obj - doc run: instant-pickup, instant-return, can fire while carrying
These results are pretty expected to me. I remember someone making bold claims about what the community wants, especially about not preferring new maps over working on existing maps, which now can be shown as false.
And maybe we’ll have a little less of the vocal minority acting like they know what people want from SD.

this ^^^^^^ please
Excitement times are most needed in DB
