Support is a joke

Hey EvoSteven,
I also had issues one weekend with the AC kicking me out, and I certainly wasn’t running anything resembling a cheat. In fact, I was killing every process I could think of, but that’s beside the point. My point is, difficulty with the AC doesn’t make me automatically assume you cheat.

I see we have a lot of players posting with similar stories to yours. What I’d like to do is get some feedback from Nexon regarding what procedure they’d like you guys to follow when this kind of thing happens. I’d also like to see if they’ll address this in some way and hopefully prevent it from happening again, as you say.

So hey, please be a bit patient as I try and get that together. Just know that I have not forgotten you guys and I’m working to make a difference.

Greatly appreciated, CC_Fang. Apologies if I expressed any anger or impatience in my post, that was definitely not my intention. Me trying to get some help was both to try to play again (it’s not very fun to have just updated the game, you start it up and it says you’re suspended while your brother right next to you is happily playing :stuck_out_tongue: ) but also to see if there was any way to contact any sort of help.

As you can see, that was almost impossible (or actually is) and I’m afraid some people may drop the game after getting that message and not finding the help required. I’m a founder myself and I love this game but I can’t exactly defend it at all costs like mindless fanboy.

I’m trying to be on the forums more regularly and help some people out. Sadly, this forum feels so unorganized to me. A simple SMF forum is so much easier ;-; Jesus, I used to be such a forums addict in the past.

Anyway, I’ve seen you multiple times around here CC_Fang and I like what you do so keep it up.

Again, apologies if anything sounded angry or something haha.

I’m hoping to help with the organization thing. This community is still developing and it’s time to try and make things better for everyone with a little bit of structure. I’ve worked with other communities in the past and hopefully I can help out a bit.

Listen, you were frustrated, and I absolutely get that 100%. There is a difference between expressing frustration and being abusive, and you were certainly on the right side of that line. I can work with frustration, but mindless rage, nah, so your thoughts and the way you expressed them is appreciated!

I hope you’ll all be patient and understanding as I try and help get these things sorted out. I’m just a volunteer, so I don’t always have the answers, but I’ll do my best to find them, and attempt to make sure that those answers are posted in the best way possible.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

I did a little research if problems like ours are well known. They are. The trainer/hacks/cheater community laughs at the AC and recommends deleting the AC’s folder and letting steam acquire it anew. The reason being, that this AC is playing smart and psychological with potential “hackers”.

It doesn’t impress the real cheaters at all, as we see every now and then.

If you speak German, or can bear reading subtitles, I recommend Der Cheat Report: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0daRaDOaAc4 - a documentary about what’s going on inside cheaters’ heads.

I don’t get the fun people find in being a cheater. Something about ruining other people’s fun and acquiring kills they don’t deserve is fun to them. Or if they hide it well enough, an easy way to acquire victory.

I have always frowned upon cheaters (UNLESS it’s a singleplayer game, c’mon, everyone used jetpack cheats and stuff in GTA San Andreas and whatnot).

People say once a cheater, always a cheater. That is simply not true. Those stuck in the habit may not better themselves, but a lot of people “grow up” and realize it’s stupid.

By definition, yes, I have cheated once, in Call of Duty 4. It was out of pure curiosity to see what it looked like and why people did it. Aimbot, wallhack, that stuff. Result? A ruined game and complaining people. Deleted it afterwards and am now double-sure that my stance against cheaters is righteous.

Don’t have time to check the report, but I can say that a lot of cheaters are those that are not mature in mind. Children and teenagers are often subject to the attractiveness of “winning and getting to insult your enemy without doing any effort”. The easy way.

NOT ENTIRELY SURE WHY I POSTED THIS EVERYTHING but eh might be an interesting read to some.

Cheating is absurd, end of story.

Now how Nexon would interact in such a case (this is an example of somone who hasn’t been dealt with:

Thank you for contacting Nexon America Customer Support.

Your game access has been temporarily blocked (2 days) for the detected use of third party programs or software while playing Dirty Bomb.

I know that you would like to see evidence or be provided a detailed explanation as to why your account has been suspended. However, the evidence that we have gathered is proprietary information and cannot be disclosed. Therefore, we will not discuss the exact nature of your specific incident.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thank you and have a great day.

Notice something?

Same goes to you @MissMurder , nexon doesn’t cooperate. Some cases just randomly get revoked others just stand there to rot and some just get straight out rejected without any explaination.

Mailing the nexon support and hope for good luck isn’t the way to roll with game support. It’s like you’re dependant on the good will of some nexon customer support employee. You can’t just redirect the users to the nexon support and pretend that to be enough to be considerated Community Management, which just so happens to be your job.

Hello xxx,

Thank you for contacting Nexon America Customer Support.
Your game access has been temporarily blocked (2 days) for the detected use of third party programs or software while playing Dirty Bomb.

Because of this you will need to serve out the rest of your suspension.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

Sincerely,

(Milky Mac) #30

I got suspended for 2 days and I would love to know why, I contacted nexon a few days back with no response. Happend after the patch. I am or never have I had ANY cheats on my computer so I would like to know what it thinks the cheats are so i wont get suspended again. Is there anyway of finding out what I need to close to run the game?

(CC_FANG) #31

Are any of you guys running custom cfgs?

(Nail) #32

any kind of network manager, most programs with overlays trigger false positives

(CC_FANG) #33

Some VOIPs have overlays.

(Viquel) #34

I am not. I’ll iterate again: I have never altered game files or memory, nor attempted to do so. This includes manual editing of configs.

I hate the wording of “detected use of third party programs or software while playing Dirty Bomb” - this is a blank slate to ban anyone, as Steam is a third party program, and it does run while playing Dirty Bomb. Other programs will run too - but steam is literally always running when the game is.

I think that the majority of people actively attempting to cheat are
a) not paying customers (in a f2p game)
b) trying to hide their activeties

As paying customer, I don’t approve of being banned, without explanation, on suspicion (because I DO know that I - see above - did not cheat)
The only consequence I can draw is not paying a dime for a game I would have had no problem paying for.

(Blu666) #35

no custom cfgs here
