Because execution and these type of skins is something NOBODY asked for. Nobody asked for what was essentially Demolition from Counter Strike, and nobody seriously wants to see Proxy in a Bikini as a skin for their character.
Execution had players, players who are upset a game mode they liked to play was simply scratched, so it had demand.
These type of skins seem to be brought up now and then, and with people agreeing, so it has demand.
I seriously would buy right away a bikini skin for Proxy, and I can assure you I’m far, far, faaaar from the only one.
Step It Up DB

Then what you’re seeing is a mix of people who come in looking for that sort of thing, and people who have been here for YEARS playing the same game, and don’t want it going that direction.
I’m in that camp, I to Dirty Bomb and keep playing it for the same reason, it plays like nothing else. And I rather not have tarnished with more mainstream concepts that only muddy the game as far as I am concerned.

Yes, I’m seeing a mix of old players who believe they are the ones who can dictate where the game goes (or petrifies), who apparently will have their shooting impaired if someone has a skin they dislike, and a mix of old and fresh players who aren’t that uptight or self-important to believe the “options PC gamers like” shouldn’t exist because maybe they personally don’t like them - be it skins or game modes.

Or it’s the people who’ve been enjoying and supporting this game for a long time only to see it going the more mainstream route, and basically everything they liked about the game that made it distinct is disappearing.
This game doesn’t need skins like this, this is not Overwatch or Dead or Alive, it’s Dirty Bomb. A game that has been VERY good at not over sexualizing or making it’s characters so appealing that it becomes the most noticeable aspect about that character.
Proxy for example isn’t Proxy because she’s the cute chick with an eye patch, she’s proxy because of ability, land mines. Same thing goes for Red Eye, Skyhammer, etc. Tell me what part about Dirty Bomb made it clear that it’s all about that eye candy?
And execution never made sense for the game either since it’s formula, it’s very design and core mechanics are done WAY better by Counter Strike. If Splash Damage wants to emulate that or put a different spin on it, then it needs to be it’s own game, not shoe horned into something else.

Well, sorry to say, but only old players obviously aren’t going to keep the game alive by themselves. And if your enjoyment of a team based shooter relies on the character skins, not on the game itself, the issue isn’t with people wanting different cosmetic options.

Funny, because how shallow the game is as far as story and background goes is a complain people make about the game. The way they try to make events that add to the background seems to point at them wanting characters to be more than “that empty shell that throws land mines.”

It never made sense to you, but it seems to have made sense to others who enjoyed it. What happened to your speech about PC gamers liking options? Why are you basically advocating that something you didn’t like shouldn’t have existed, fuck those who liked that option?

Not buying something doesn’t stop us from haven’t to see other people’s player models. This is totally unnecessary and if they add things like this then they need an option to “Force Base Models” along with it for people who don’t want to look at it.
So ironic that you have this attitude about cosmetic skins, but find it “sad” that people are happy a game mode they didn’t care for has been removed. I guess “not playing” that game mode “didn’t stop them from seeing” the option for it and they wanted it gone, since it was “totally unnecessary” for them. But I guess in this, even though “it would not be hurting anyone,” it isn’t “selfish”?
majority of the player on DB dont like Execution, thats why they are getting rid of it.
if you like it well, tough luck.
best hope the next game mode they invent is better than execution

They have had their choice for a whole year, and the majority of people who play Dirty bomb do not play Execution. And more so, Execution is often the first game mode people play, and it gives a bad idea about how Dirty Bomb actually plays as a conhesive whole.
And I’m not even going to bother with your other comment because it’s really a basic concept.
Look at these skins

And then tell me how anything scantily clad would fit?

Going by that they should next remove Ranked, since it’s the next less played mode?

It’s not a mode, it’s basically what matchmaking used to be, and I imagine it’s what it will be replaced by soon and the whole thing will be revamped.
This game needs a competitive matchmaking system, otherwise there is no way this can be the competitive shooter they want it to be.

Well, it’s pretty much a variant of the casual games, that players have turned into the real meat of the game. Compared to casual matches, it’s likely by far the least played style right now, and the fact that it’s not a game mode, just a variant, would make it even more disposable if we go by the “popularity” item. But popularity isn’t everything, it’s having options for people to use, no?
The skins currently being released are way better than the ironic “but luk how sexi boi” skins.
There’s a reason I still haven’t bought Overwatch and it’s not just the skins
I’m glad that DB isn’t just another TF2 (that I adore but simply played way too much of) and while I agree that it needs a little more humor that can be added by some more colorful skins, nudity is really just boring and old and listening to people jerk their dicks and beans over the naked characters was already obnoxious a decade ago.
The colorful irony that would be best in DB is the kind of stuff we see in PayDay 2. Give us some skins of old political figures from the merc’s country, or some blood/dirt spattered costumes like a Phoenix piñata or a Redeye cyborg.
@BloodySin and @watsyurdeal chill guys. If ya wanna fight, slide it into those dms so the rest of us can have fun and talk about silly things like Fragger in a thong.

Matchmaking is there for people who want to play competitively but do not have time to join a team or participate in tournaments, if they wanna have a ranked and unranked matchmaking that is fine, but it’s far from the thing that will fix Dirty Bomb. Community Servers need to be added so that the drop in and drop out mentality and playing with friends aspect can also be there.
If you’re going to be consistently petty then these conversations really don’t go anywhere.

Even when people talk about bikinis, how do you translate that into “nudity”? How does wearing a tank top and hot pants becomes “nudity”? Maybe I just have a different experience, living in a place close to many beaches, but women in bikinis aren’t a “jerk off cismalefalocentricopressiocracy” thing, it’s something completely normal. The game already has pretty much zero realism in all aspects, so getting uptight about the skin someone else might wear is just nitpicking because of “muh feels.”
