could you set any startsize and endsize for the sprite? and how large was the texture size? and did your shader have a tcmod rotate rather then setting rotation in the entity?

I toally agree with the small test maps, I do those a lot and there great when a lot of tweaking is involved :slight_smile:

I know what you’re getting at ratty :wink: , but no, Drakir hasn’t found a way around this issue. I checked out the map, and the water particles he is using have no variation to the start and end sizes, and also has no rotation of particles.

@chavo, thanx again for clarifying this, although I would of thought the shader could do the rotation.

Setting the rotation in the shader works great, i have tried several things and played alot with the target_smoke effect. As i mentoned in the other thread, using the ā€œfanā€ shader was a laugh. hundreds of fans flying upwards rotating. Me wanna do a hornets nest in the next map :smiley:

The image size i had to go with to get really small particles was 16*16.

Ey sock how does the pain engine compare to Doom3. I mean did you see the size of those bosses in Painkiller. It was one of those things that makes you rub your eyes in disbelief. :eek:

I could make such a killer RPG mod with that engine.

Sadly the Pain engine does not offer much chance for the community but hopefully this situation might improve in the future once the SDk has been released. All the maps were created in Maya and they use massive textures, I really mean massive like 2048x2048 for bosses etc. There is talk of some entity/monster editor so you can change the spawn locations and havoc entites around but not a world editor like GTK. I have loads of issues with painkiller but this thread is really not the place. I’m sorry Drakir for taking this thread off topic but I wanted to respond to badong’s post.

PS. Got 23 tarot cards, completed the game twice on 2 skill levels and playing it through on trama skill level atm. Damn addictive. :smiley:
