So, what made you “to call a halt to the current branding/beta cadence/etc. and get the proverbial house in order.”? In your opinion what was wrong and how will you fix it?
Without airing any dirty laundry or pulling open the underwear drawer, I’d say that I immediately saw a bit of identity confusion. What exactly that was/is, I won’t go into. But, Extraction v Dirty Bomb seemed to be a clear influence.
Also, I saw the state of the Nexon forums, read through them (& these) to garner some game feedback, and quickly saw that you guys weren’t having the most positive experience. It was easy to understand why, especially after I was idle-kicked outta the forums for the first time. Dam near raged.
So, rather than flush others into the game and have them repeat those/your experiences… it was an easy call. Let’s pump the brakes and come to a stop, get everyone behind an aligned vision, plan against it, and when the time is right, re-activate and be transparent with our community.
You can see this transition just starting to happen now with the OP in this thread, the survey of what forums you want to use while new ones are built, today’s update on the targeted load testing that’s about to begin, etc.
In which direction the branding will go? Proready/PubFriendly/CODclone/WETclone/CombatArmsclone/cod+bf hybrid ? Or, how do you plan to present this game to the public?
We plan on positioning the game in the market w/a unique proposition that carries an irreverent tone (vague, yes I know). Still fleshing out the deets, though I wouldn’t coin anything as specifically Clone/Pro/Pub.
Do you plan to inject some of your console experience in to this game?
Yes and no I guess. Not in terms of nerfing, auto-aim, etc., but yes in terms of AAA quality. Mind you, I don’t make the game and know $hit about programming. So, I’m more coming from a Marketing/PR/Community/Communications perspective.
My console experience started with various CODs and then to Homefront, Metro: Last Light, Evolve, etc. so the lessons I learned w/those shooters are certainly being carried over. This game is a F2P though, so obviously everything doesn’t directly correlate.

Do you consider strafe-jumping a bug?
ANTI covered this one for me, thanks!
What is your opinion on DLC regarding this game?
A must.
Not in the traditional console sense (i.e. map packs), but in the PC F2P realm/model in relation to this game.

What is your opinion on a SDK release for this game?
It’s the heritage of Splash Damage, modding and competitive play is what made these guys who they are. Not my decision, but personally I’m all for it.
As a WET player, what are in your opinion the key factors that made W:ET be played for so long?
Easy: ET & Wolfy for me is/was all about stickiness & balance. There’s a reason we all played the same few maps in the same few modes for much more than a few years. That behavior is pretty much the exact opposite of consumer behavior w/FPS games on consoles now.
Of all the questions, that were ventilated, one is of particular interest of mine (as well as of a certain group of beta-testers - from Russia/Belarussia/Ukraine).
What is going to be decided about RU-version/Nexon version situation?
Will they be the same?
Will there be at least the same mod?
Will i be able to play not useing a proxy at some point?
i Know that DDestiny desided that they want their version to be different. (very sad decision) but maybe you guys together can talk them out?
Splitting the comunity is a clearly bad thing without any 'but’s
Typical Mass-hole response!

a consoler and a yankee/giants fan. ugh. i take back my last comment
So today at GDC we had a meeting with me, Locki, and Fluffy from SD, CHEFS and MoneyPenny from Nexon and the Destiny guys about this subject. We’re getting aligned. We’ll be able to let you know what this means exactly in the future.
