$ Spent on Dirty Bomb So Far

(Stynzerman) #81

I considered my purchase(s) a donation to a great f2p game.

Australian dollar is so bad compared to the US dollar atm, 50 dollars for 10 cases just seems absurd, as much as I want the dickens cards. So far I’ve purchased Stoker and a bunch of Expert Cases.

If there wasn’t so much RNG and a little more content, I’d most likely spend more, but the current store offerings just don’t seem worth it.

I spent just below €100 (which falls into the $100-200 category,) because I want to and can support it. Besides I already spent manyfolds more time on this game than I ever did on any triple A game (with the exception of Quake Wars) so it’s still immensely cheap in value compared to any pay-to-play triple A title.

And the continued support and development this model gives…I love it! The same for Brink and ETQW had been discontinued at this point, despite their status as “triple A’s.” As a sidenote, one of the things ETQW had going for it was the high number of quality maps at release, and the post-release release of the SDK.

Truly a dilemma. And I have to admit that I both get it, and not, at the same time.
You would rather be getting ‘nothing’ for something, then be getting ‘something’…
…yet, it’s all in the mind, because the money go the same place, and you can just pretend you get ‘nothing.’

I spent zero on this game, and i wont spent any in the future, i almost got all mercs unlocked with just playing, and the rng on cases you buy with real money is just plain stupid. if i want to gamble i go to a casino. i sincerely thank all the players that pay the devs monthly salary, so that i dont have too.

A lot of the fun for me are the unlocks (mercs) and hunt for better cards, whether it be through cases or crafting.

I feel like paying for a shortcut would be ultimately reducing the time I spend playing the game as once I’ve hit end game my options for play have been severely limited.

  1. Play for fun
  2. ???

EDIT:

Extra comment…

I love how the game isn’t pay to win, however I always feel bad having spent almost 600 hours on a game and given back nothing to the devs in return. (though I try to get everyone I know playing the game, so that helps I guess)

I’d be more interested in buying something if I felt it had more value than a random skin on a card I don’t see. I could see a lot of people buying skins that you could directly apply on a gun or knife separate to the current load out card though.

This poll would’ve needed some sweet middle ground below the 100  Like 1-50 and 50-100. Spent 30€ overall on mercs, I will not spend any money on cases until Nexon takes their head out of the bush and make honest, working RNG involved mechanic for the Loadout system. Will probably buy the next merc that gets introduced too. But the cases stay as absolute no-go under any circumstances.

No idea if it’s Nexon but the marketing implementation behind all this smells so much of them, no offense but I have my past with Combat Arms and Maplestory. At least Credit boosters don’t tick in menu screens and offline like Maplestory boosters did, dear god.
