Slide through the hole in the gate on Container City. Faster than crouching.
I win.

Well who doesn’t do that? Anyways, I’d love to knock people off founder’s tower if possible, that would be great.

There’s a place in Refuel where you slide under a garage door type thing, and a place in the first map of Shipyard that acts as another way to access the supply command post.
You slide under the plane to get the data to the plane on Refuel as well.
Point your crosshair more down so you actually look where you wanna go. That would be the only change Id like in the slide mechanism. For example I often fail to downslide on reactor in that cargo crane hole that lead either to a command post or the low back door entrance.
On that reactor slide I really have to point the crosshair too far downwards for my taste. The game always wants to make me climb instead of slide under the ground level.
I’d love it if you could hold the crouch button during a slide to avoid standing up at the end, it would make sliding into cover a bit smoother.
:rolleyes:Alright, I have put up a thread like this another time but I feel like it’s time to bring it up again. why is there a slide mechanic? I mean the tackle is one thing (I’ll get to the big grope about that in a minute.) but there is literally no place in this game to slide under an obsticle. you can’t slide under the conveyers in terminal, you can’t slide under the black and white rail in sec tow, what is there to slide under? I feel this was supremely underused and had a lot of potential to be a good method for entry and backways.
As far as the slide tackle, the lights are really starting to be a bother, when you do a slide I understand that you slide but the momentum should carry you in that on singular direction. why can the lights slide and go more than one direction, it makes it very hard to shoot them and it’s part of the reason they can take down heavies so well. If I could slide forward then back and to the side all in one slide I’d be hard to hit too. this should be addressed.
Here’s looking forward to the future,
BiiG
P.S. I’m sorry there’s about two or three places in the parkour this challenge to slide under… but not in game.
There’s a few other spaces in the actual game as well: Refuel, Aquarium, CC, Terminal, SY, etc. There’s probably a few more, but that’s all I can think of off the top of my head at work. It would be nice to see more use of the feature related to moving around the maps though. I also use it to build momentum sometimes (like going downstairs) even if I’m not using it to go under an object.
You can pull this off already by timing it right. If you tap B (whatever the crouch button is for you) again towards the end of your slide you’ll stay crouched behind the cover you slid behind. I hear you that it could be a bit easier/more intuitive though.
yeah there are places in CC and a few other maps where it LOOKS like you should be able to slide under them, but you cannot. I guess that’s what makes me angry the most. but this thread has opened my eyes to a lot of slidy spots I didn’t know about thanks guys!
You can slide under the bridge in Resort (2nd objective)… MUCH faster way of getting to the plant to diffuse it (versus going over/around).
altho i do agree that not many maps where made with the sliding mechanic in mind , I actually use it as a tactic more than anything . (sliding under enemy turrets to grab the codes, fuel etc.) funny thing is I try to slide in other fps’s now…but it only stops my sprint and makes me do a silly crouch :sadface
I slide under stuff all the time, on refuel theres a garage door that u have to slide under unless u wanna take all day and look like a dummy. Under pipes, low hanging ceilings, mini skirts, I mean u just have to appreciate slides and wall runs man.
