Considering how split the opinions are, I’d suggest waiting for first serious scrims to see if Vasilli is broken in comp play and react based on the results achieved by people playing him. My guess is: there’ll be only a handful of reliable, highly skilled snipers and besides that everyone else will go for slayer / medic / engy loadout setup.
Sniping too stronk?
Vassili seems pretty balanced to me. IF I had any complaints it would be that heart beat sensor, but they’ve already nerfed it fairly so I’m not going to say anything in respects to that.
To be honest OP, you may just be a fairly good sniper. Other Vassilis complain that Vassili is not adequate enough in respect to gameplay. Others are upset that it requires head shots only to kill with Vassili. I don’t see this problem when I play Vassili (admittedly I haven’t played him much because #RedEyeIsAProblem
) and I have a pretty easy time getting head shots.
people probably gonna hate Aimee with her semi auto and camera, liked her better when she was called Snoop
Considering how punishing he is if you miss your shots, and considering that you have no reason to complain if you are literally standing there instead of trying to dodge or think on your feet, I don’t think you can complain.
I’m sorry but if someone has the aim and map knowledge to snipe effectively, you can’t nerf that without making the class useless.
Okay people are suggesting taking jumping accuracy away from Vassili and it blows my mind. It’s not easy to be sniper in this game, jumping accuracy is something that makes us viable and the speed we run away. I thought sniper would be awesome and so on in this game but I have been slowly proven wrong as I have faced better opponents, it’s super easy to hit sniper once or twice and aim punch completely ruins your shot.
You can’t really stay at one place if your teammates aren’t doing well so it’s not efficient either, what I mostly rely on are jumping HS and pre-firing with the help of heartbeat sensor. It should be impossible for sniper to survive long enough to get 2 shots in if you don’t hit the headshot, In best case scenario you hit the body and manage to knife or use secondary to kill him.

Nailed it on the head dude. Nice work for having some logic.
Help, I’m 12 years old. I was born in the millenial generation immersed into an era of digital interaction and instant gratification. I can only play video games that have completely simplified mechanics and outcomes and a small enough sample size during gameplay that I can consistently win despite my inability to perform well at anything. I play CoD and Minecraft because I can beat other 12 year-olds over the head with a voxel harvesting object using my pathetically unrefined and undisciplined left-clicking skills. If I am ever presented with new game mechanics or concepts that require me to adapt or make critical decisions during play, I will immediately complain about those mechanics until the devs feel pressured into making unmerited changes or I’ll quit and play more CoD going 25-5 on Rust FFA 32-man. I just shit my diaper but it’s ok because my mom will clean it up for me so I can finish this killstreak.
If you are to hate sniper rifles, then you’d have headshots by shotguns even more wouldn’t you?
No… moaning about “I’m a fragger and I got OHK by a rifle headshot” is REALLY poor.
You clearly haven’t played CS or COD4 if you think it’s easy to snipe in this game, this game is a lot faster compared to those and you can only get a kill if you HS. Other games a body shot most of the time will kill someone.
I’m a pretty good sniper in this game and I can easily see the difference between players with FPS experience and those with none, those with none will just try and hug a wall and hide and move towards me. People that do with just run at me, change directions and will prefire me if I try to re-peak if I miss a shot, these people can absolutely shut me down so I am left playing incredibly defensive. The only saving grace that you have is the heartbeat sensor to maybe give you a head start if they really try and rush you.
This is beautiful. Do you have a blog, or did you just make this on a whim?[/quote]
I just spewed it out of my fingers onto the keyboard when I saw the thread. I didn’t even bother reading the thread because I already knew the kind of banal garbage everyone would be dumping into it.
In general im a horrible fps player. I tend to be the guy who plays the objectives and has a super poor KD ratio. In games such as battlefield I could easily play a sniper and do just fine altough i generally play classes with medkits or ammo kits.
In this game the sniping is such a challenge. My first couple of games i really struggled to see how sniping could be viable at all because of all the super fast movements. After awhile i could atleast land a few headshots but in no way do I agree with your point that sniping is too powerful and a headshot shouldnt kill in one hit.
Since you generally only get one shot, not being able to kill anyone with that one shot would be extremely detrimental to the merc. Why would i ever play a merc with 0 kill potential in an fps game?
Maybe balance it as if u get killed by 1 shot (headshot) by sniper your respawn time is cut by half - and this could be only an option if u had FULL HEALTH ! ( 100% ), so when u come from spawn and got 1 shoted by sniper 5 sec later , u cant be revived and only option is to respawn which is lets say 16 sec -> it should cut half and be just 8 or cut 1/3 of respawn time to balance it up a little bit idk… , but i see this could be tricky to develop - i personaly hate when i get 1 shoted few seconds just after spawn its anoying, and if there are 3 snipers in enemy team uh…
Anybody got any other ideas?

Yea, leave snipers as they are right now. I’ll repeat myself: there’s so much stuff that one hit kills you in this game that nerfing sniper in any way is a class breaking action. Weakening Vassilli would make him useless if you left other mercs as they’re right now. Sniper’s OHK relies exclusively on hard to master skill (aiming) and as such it inherently can’t be imbalanced.
This stuff is so hilarious to read, it’s like they have never played a sniper before, it blows my
mind.
If you have sniper available please go on a server, scope up -> jump and see if the crosshair points where you pointed it at before the jump started.
It doesn’t, it sways, every time I jump it sways RANDOMLY so I have no fucking idea which way to compensate on if I’m jumping. Please, at least play 1 game of sniper before you talk on these threads.
