Should the prices for elite cases be changed?

(debonairRogue) #21

wait, your pricing is wrong
with your model it would be better to just buy 3.99 pound cases 3 times than buying the 27 pound cases

(Andyman99999) #22

I have no idea why the less cases you get… The better the deal…
This would mean if you bought the five case pack, you could buy it three times for £3.99 which means you would pay a total of £11.97 and end up getting 15 cases… Why would you even but then 10 case pack or the 15 case pack when they cost more? Even if you bought two 10 case packs, it would still give you a better deal then the 15 case pack…

Do you even Math Bruh?

Don’t worry, I explained it further posting three minutes after your post. Hopefully they can fix their errors.

I voted no, but I’m against the down of price on elite only. If you want to down elite cases, you’ll mostly have to down everything else available for money in-game, maybe at the exception of mercs. Currently, choosen bronze loadout is 3,50€. It’s 0.7x the cost of a single elite. If I can have 5 elites for 4€ and price of the rest is not changed, no one would have incentives to buy those choosen bronze for almost the same price, even if there’s gambling involved.

If they put 5 elites at 4€, it is far from being guaranteed that it will multiply the sales volumes by more than 5 (You reduced the price of a single elite by more than 5). And in my opinion, they would be doing a financial suicide.

Right now, there’s also a pricing equivalence between in-game credits and real money, which is 5K credits = 1€/$. This would also get broken. As of now, this equivalence is pretty good. You can grind in less than 2/3 hours 1€ worth of credits. This seems fair to me.

Following this math thread :forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/comment/34098/

Bronze to cobalt would turn pretty costly in terms of in-game credits compared to your proposal . Putting elite cases at such a low price would sound for some as a P2W alert. Even if it’s cheap.

Taking my regular opportunity to complain about the inaccurate(?) exchange rate from USD to GBP.

Single Case: $4.99 / £3.99
Actual Currency Conversion: $4.99 -> £3.21

Not exactly breaking the bank on a single elite case, but since this applies to all purchases, it’s definitely something that adds up. Same applies for the euro, I believe, though less sure on the amount differences.

Overall, as much as I think the cases are too expensive for what you get, I understand that there’s only so many sources of revenue for now. No harm done, it just means I won’t buy 'em for cash, but I’m now at the point where I have more than enough credits for each merc release - so if they want some more of my money, I need shinies.

Gun skins separated from loadouts would be nice.

The card cases would be more enticing if you could choose which merc the cards pulled from. Having any card from any merc gives you horrible odds and the odds will just get worse as they add in more mercs.

(Ghosthree3) #27

Letting you pick the class wouldn’t be a bad idea. The RNG is still heavily against you for getting a high quality card that’s actually good.

(Desukakes) #28

Do this and I might start opening these things like ppl do with CSGO cases.

(Mister__Wiggles) #29

Way too expensive considering all you’re getting is cosmetic items and maybe even for a merc you don’t own or don’t care much for. Discount the elite cases one weekend by about 50% and watch how much you guys will earn from it.

(Ghosthree3) #30

The main reason for such an income boon would be that it has a discount tag on it. People impulse by discount shit all the time, myself included. The problem is doing that is shitting on everyone that has bought cases so far and also dissuades future non discounted purchases because people would rather wait for the price to go down again.

I didn’t even think to check, i was just going of the ingame prices for the cases.

(sqpantz) #32

I am really not a fan of the RNG nature of the cases, honestly I can barely tolerate purchasing a bronze loadout. (especially when they nerf the gun or ability afterwards)
If there was some decent chance of say getting a merc code or a lump sum of credits then I might consider it, but as it stands now I really don’t see purchasing an elite case.

(Mister__Wiggles) #33

Ghost I disagree completely. You can get a merc bundle where you will receive 3 mercs and 2 elite cases and still save money over what you would pay for 5 cases! The business model is questionable, I will be surprised if it doesn’t change at some point. You see alot of people unhappy with merc prices which is totally justified because they are a little on the expensive side, I’ve also seen people throw thousands of £’s into this game as well which just defeats the purpose.

(azureChowder) #34

Wouldnt br fair for ppl. who boughy them for the actual price.

(RuleofBooKz) #35

who cares its just cosmetic skins after all. u want “value” spend 17k on the exact loadout u want

no one cares if ur running around as a cobolt if ur a crap player

(Edzer) #36

They should change it, I would have spent money on some if the prices weren’t that high. The only elite cases I’ve used now were part of Merc bundles and the USP. Far too expensive to buy them on their own.

After reading a bit I agree it would be fine if RNG would be reduced by allowing to select the merc.

(robustWonder) #37

like many have suggested, make Elite Boxes character specific. The price is fine, it’s all fluff, but the chances of getting what you need for the character you need is pathetically low.

Maybe even make it 2 mercs per Elite Box, but having them all randomly selected is not worth the price especially when they keep adding mercs.

Imagine a year from now trying to get a cobalt with the right loadout when there are 30 mercs randomly found in the Elite Boxes.
