This relates to scheduling a weekend (at least) for some servers to run a rotation of the new maps that are being created here…
some problems with that are this:
-how many maps are in the works from splashdamage forum members?
-are they far enough along to test yet?
-how far out should we schedule?
I for one would need to hand rcon over to some forum members because I will not be available all the time.
Please post your thoughts…

A request, and an offer to mappers…
Friday & Saturday nights, I run [Ballz] Fun Night server, which concentrates on new maps. I have posted a review of some recent ones at http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4478
This week, I plan to run 5 maps for Friday, and 5 for saturday, with little or no overlap. If you’re interested in having your map tested/dropping by to play live/ whatever, let me know. We usually have a core of 12-20 players for most of the night - some [Ballz], some other clans, and some regulars who just like new maps. Maps I plan to run include:
Atlantic Wall
Temple
reriver
Ammo Depot
Monte Cassino
That leaves 5 slots if you would like to have something else tested. Monte Cassino and Temple will probably run Saturday when we usually have a larger group. Other maps I dredge up between now & Friday may get run as well.
We’d love to have interested mappers come by, play, discuss your work, have a bit of fun. I’m firmly convinced that the future of ET rests with 3rd party maps, and would like to provide feedback and help if possible.

I run a few servers on the east coast (out of the University of Virginia), and would be glad to host another on All Custom rotation. I’d prefer to host final-ish maps (duh :)), and would be glad to put anything that looks good and plays well into the rotation for a little publicity. I’m actually really interested in hosting an entire custom campaign, but I don’t know if anyone has been productive enough to finish one of those yet.

Well Sock…It does not appear that the mappers want any help…I have not recieved one email nor have any expressed interest in getting there map checked out…
Personally I have the all seeing Eye and have to use that to find new maps to run on my servers…I run 5 servers and 2 are custom map servers<- those are my biggest ones… both custom map servers have a fast FTP attached so you dont have to wait to 10 - 20 minutes to play…usually takes less then a minute…

Just like everybody else, I’m happy to do Beta testing. I can’t offer a server on the web but I am happy to do private testing with a LAN group I get together with. i can provide feedback on texturing, leaks, architecture, game play, suggestions, you name it.
I play quite a bit and have done this for quite a few maps now so I think I have adequate experience. I am also willing to assistance in pre-beta testing and can guarantee no leaks (you will not see the sky box) so that SIN can’t have his evil ways.

chigc.com already does map testing and hosting for mappers. As one person said last night when we were testing out a new map “Well with 64 players on at one time, all the holes get found…”

after all ChiGC’s ET Shrub is one of the most popular servers in the et world
