This isn’t personally directed at you, but seeing past flaws=/= flaws not existing. Some people love their beater of a car, but it doesn’t mean that their brakes don’t squeak, or their engine doesn’t stall, or constantly have acrid black smoke coming from the exhaust. By all means enjoy your game don’t let me stop you, but I amongst other people like their stuff to, well, work properly.
And you don’t play online so you really haven’t seen the half of it either.

“hate” is a strong word, and I’m pretty sure nobody hates you. If they “dislike” you however, it isn’t because they love the game - it’s because they think your thread is pointless, they’ve already seen enough of this kind of thing, and there are plenty of other threads that discuss Brink’s shortcomings in something approaching a constructive way
Disappointment with the game is perfectly understandable for most of us - the need to create a thread like this, is not understandable. You present no constructive criticism, nor ways of improving the game - you simply state you’re bored/sick of it, and are trading it in for a tasty snack. To be frank - if that’s the case, just do it quietly - because nobody cares. This kind of thread doesn’t generate ANY positive replies, regardless of whether (a) everyone loves the game, (b) everyone hates the game, or © opinions are mixed. It creates arguments, and that’s it. Hence the tone of the replies

People don’t hate you. They hate this thread because it offers nothing constructive whatsoever and comes across as another “whining thread”. You may not have intended it to look like that but you didn’t exactly give many reasons why you were dissapointed.

umm… they’ve promised a DLC and they’re waiting for Microsoft to certify it. They are trying to deliver. Have patience and they will. They’ve already delivered a big balance patch (on PC). What else have they promised that they haven’t delivered yet?

I play many different games from indie offerings all the way up to AAA titles. I know what to expect from a game. Perhaps you expected too much? I am quite satisfied with what Brink delivered.
Don’t buy into advertising hype next time and you won’t be dissapointed.

People can verbally be disappointed with the game as long as they do it constructively. There is absolutely no point to making a thread that simply says “I HAET THESE GAME!”
It serves no purpose other than flamebait.
If you’re really dissapointed then verbalise that dissapointment and produce a list of things that didn’t live up to your expectations. Maybe provide some feedback.
Same goes for people who like the game. A thread that simply says “THIS GAEM ROX!” is just as useless (although would probably be better received by the community since this is a fan forum).
Forums are places for discussion. If you just want to express your opinion without talking about it then get a blog. If you want to use the forum then you should put forward topics of discussion and not spew forth unformed opinions and then get upset when people attack you for being unforthcoming. (Although for civilities sake they shouldn’t attack you, rather they should pass snide comments).

The feedback will come when SD sees the drop in sales on the next title. A fan base was built up with the previous games and then lost with Brink. There’s your market research right there. There were things included in ET and QW that were not rolled up into Brink. Brink is not evolutionary, it’s “revolutionary” in that after the revolution, everything goes to pot.
I don’t necessarily feel, as a disappointed customer, that my job is to document all of the things that need to be fixed with the game. This is why SD has project managers, directors, ect. Besides, most of what I feel strongly about has already been said. There’s an echo chamber somewhere in SD. “SMART is going to blow people away!” - “Yeah boss! You bet boss!” Pointing this out ad nauseum is pointless.
All this said, I agree that this thread is crap. It’s just $60 man. Get over it. SD over promised and under-delivered and posting bitchy threads isn’t going to change that. Just take your lumps and move on. Don’t buy the next SD game until the reviews come out (or let your friends buy it first). Simple as that.

I agree that there have been many threads that actually discuss the shortcomings of the game. Those are the threads that will make the next game better (as long as SD learn from them).
Even your post has more detail than most of the whining posts and at least is constructive in defining why you don’t complain anymore.

and let’s be honest… just search in the youtube for 2 year old videos from this game and compare with how it looks now. if you are happy with it, you should respect yourself a bit more.

I thought you were playing on PS3. There’s quite a few of us that have had no problems getting MP matches going (often full 8v8) with our text-chat-room-lobby workaround. It’s hard for me to log in and not get invited to a game.
