SD, stop fucking up your veterans.

Welp… can understand that, DB is seriously lacking playerbase, and any way to bring more people in is good.

Though why i never see any DB adverts anywhere…

Bronze cards cost $3.50 for the card of your choice if I remember correctly.

The key there is card of your choice.

RNG value?

We can do some easy math for the “expected loadout value”

Buy 100 elite cases at the bundle price. $40 for 10.

100 Cases = $400
From those cases we know what the expected, but not guaranteed, results are.

Silver - 80%
Gold - 15%
Cobalt - 5%

80 Silver
15 Gold
5 Cobalt

Three tiers of rarity, so we will divide the $400 by 3. $133.33 in ‘per tier’ value when dealing with Elite Cases.

This means each loadout would be worth, IF LOADOUT DIDN’T MATTER, to:

Silver = $1.66 Each
Gold = $8.88 Each
Cobalt = $26.66 Each

The BIG BIG BIG problem with this math is that the loadout you get actually does matter in the ‘value’ of the card. A card with a bad loadout is essentially worthless EXCEPT as trade up/in materials.

The loadouts that you would use to trade up do not share the same value as the loadouts you will keep. You wouldn’t base the value of a good cobalt or a good silver based on the value of the pay for what you want bronze. Why would you pay 3.50 for a bronze only to trade it up?

Also, if your goal is to just get trade up materials expert cases would automatically be cheaper. $2 per case and minimum result is a bronze. If you were a level 1 and wanted to trade up from bronze to cobalt spending money it would be more like $2 per bronze, so at a minimum half the cost of what you stated. Even then getting a single silver or gold cuts a LOT of cost out of that trade up process.

The entire thing is a stupid waste of time though. I am just bored right now. :slight_smile:

And yet we still pay $35 for 10 silvers.

Hey guys,

This is a big concern for us as well, your Special Edition, Obsidian, etc. cards not being “worth” anything anymore because they are obsolete.

As a long term goal, we are looking into how to keep these cards relevant.

I have no more information to share about this at this time however, sorry about that. I just want let you guys know we share the same concerns about this.
It seems they only think about special edition /obsidian / maybe beta fighter. Not normal silver/gold/cobald. So, if you have a now obsolete cobald. Good luck with the trade in.
Weeks of radio silence after announcing 2nd gen.
Same thing for a few days after the update went live.
Finally a forum post about “long term goals”, but only special cards mentioned.
Forgive me for not being optimistic in the matter :frowning:

@MarsRover I think it either happens within the next few weeks (actually I dont think so) or it will be so long down the line that most people already forgot about it.

What makes me a bit nervous is the “how to keep these cards relevant”. This doesnt necessarily means to update them to second generation. This could also mean something super “creative” no one asked for.

Thanks Ardez for your calculations there! This part of your text pretty much encapsulates why I feel having functional loadouts and skins tied together is absolutely crappy system to start any kind of trading on. Which is why I’ve been very confused from the start of why are devs even seeing (or planning on seeing) any effort to create trading to begin with.

nearly a 1000 hrs in have most cards from just playing not brought one thing.last thing we need is easier rewards.i almost feel guilty of having played so long and not spending a penny on how good the content is for free.yes i do have all the rares,cobalts special editions.so im not bothered about new players getting a free gold card.
you guys are funny, talking about “value” for free digital data, what value?

what’s the value of these ?

didn’t cost me anything, not even play time, all just handed to me, FREE
I’d send you $100 now for the Sky, Saw + Vas obsidian cards if it were possible.

:slight_smile:

Aw you poor thing. You have that entitlement syndrome that keeps minimum wage from being increased.

“But but!!! Dirty Bomb was terrible when I started and I didn’t get anything when I was a noob and I had to work super hard it was so awful and bad!!! Why are you trying to make it better for anyone??? I had a terrible time starting off and I really hated it so that means everyone should have a terrible time starting and if you make it better for them then you have to give me EVERYTHING FOR FREE BECAUSE I’M A WINNER!!!”

TL;DR
Your reward as a veteran is having access to all the early game content and use of these forums to help shape the game from the terrible thing it was when you started into what it is today. Just because they want to entice new players with shiny gear doesn’t mean you should be entitled to it just because you didn’t get it when you were new.

When a new hire gets a signing bonus, do all the veteran employees, the ones that didn’t get a signing bonus when they were newly hired, also get a retroactive bonus?

No.

New player perks are for new players, not old players.

Instead of complaining about being excluded from new player perks, complain that SD isn’t giving out veteran player exclusive perks.
