Funny thing darkfire, that’s exactly the opposite of what they tell you to do here.
Meh, most forums I visit discourage posting in over 2-month old topics. But said poster doesn’t really have an answerable problem, which is where I see the problem. Probably just me though.

Especially since I have just spent about 2 days trying to get a truck moving and it’s very frustrating to have spent that amount of time and see that it still doesn’t budge an inch! I’ve followed the info on the LDR and tried to make sense of the truck stuff in Goldrush, but nothing. Absolutely nothing

Hey Guys i have a little Problem. I am a new mapper and i am trying to make a map with a Tank. The Map itself is nearly ready. Now i am working on the Tank. I studied a much from goldrush. An now i have build and modyfied a Tank for my Map. First i had problems that i cant repair it and that the tank doesnt drive.
Now i have worked on it now i can repair and damage the Tank as i want. And as is should be. But the tank doesnt want to drive when an allies or axis is nearby.
I have the originbrush near the trigger. It doesnt want to drive.
Has anybody an idea what could be wrong?
I am lucky for all tipps.
PS: Sorry for my bad english, but i am not soo good in writing it

first: someone told me its better to pick up an old thread then make a new one, cause its the same thing
second i made this two tutorials with a simple script mover. Both work fine. But now i want to make a tank to “drive” thats the last problem. The option to repair this vehicle is solved. Now i must solve the problem to get this tank moving
Cause he dont want to move. 
i think he’s talking about how to trigger the tank to be moved only by a specific team (allies or axis) following the splines. In this case, the tutorial isn’t complete. It only shows how to move the tank automatically at the start of the map until the end of the path (or script). I think it would be great to have some link about triggering and make the tank constructible/destructible (with turretS? maybe with 2 or more?). All together in the same thread.

hi i’ll cut to the chase,i’m stuck lol
basically i followed the above tutorial for the tank,i load up the map go it,my tanks tracks are not visible and it doesn’t move,i can;'t even get in it.
I’m pretty sure i need some sort of trigger to get in it but i don’t think any tutorial covers it(non that i’ve seen).
I’m assuming the tanks not moving because there’s no tracks and i’m assuming i’ve missed and not done something and thats why i can’t get in the tank.I have copyed the script for the tank like it said in the tutorial so i don’t think thats the prob.
I’ve checked out goldrush and from what i could tell there’s a few things round the tank not in the tutorial(one of them i believe is for making smoke appear when the tank is destroyed)
anyway i would appreciate any help with this

digging up some old stuff, but hey (like said before) : it’s better to continue in an old topic than to fill up the forum with new threads with the same subject.
anyway, i used the same tutorial for my tank from the 2bit experiment and everything works perfectly fine. BUT there is only one little problem: my tank follows the spline route and i used 13 splines (always known this never ment good luck) , anyway
when the tank comes to spline number 13 he needs to stop and fire at some castle doors. but here is where it goes wrong. it goes to spline 13 and suddenly flashes into the middle of the map (very abrupt) and stops and fires. it just floats there .
the spline route is not closed, this means there is no ‘targetname’ in the ‘n’ menu for spline 13.
what am i doing wrong?
Maybe post your script? Did you do everything as 2bit tell us? Do you trigger the tankfire (named whatever) trigger from the last move trigger?
Do you have right amount of triggers in your tank script. It sounds like you have extra moving routine. I bet it tries to followspline a spline which doesn’t exist. Try to read output from the console as the tank moves, when you type g_scriptdebug 1. See where it does go wrong. You will feel good if you can solve it yourself, I guarantee. If you don’t, post your script and we’ll try to help you. But again I’m almost sure you have too much move triggers (=extra followspline command).
